- He has returned to Indiana but
will come to Texas again for ah
extensive tour according to a
dispatohfrom Dallas to the El
Paso Herald.
Miss Gould's philanthropy in
sending Dr. Brown to this state
at her personal expense is highly
oommendable and is character-
istic .

he ever saw on that' route and
through Kansas; He thinks the
big orops there will lower the

district has a small piece of cot-
ton with 12 to 140 bolls on eaoh
stalk and its estimated yield is a
bale per aor'e. He thinks all of
his ootton will yield a fair orop.
He had three plantings; the first

We congratulate Tom and hope
that he will get even raoro than
he expeots now. The rainfall

Sully aad Farmers.
There has been a great deal of
comment among farmers con-
cerning the estimate of only a
10000000-bale orop by Daniel
Sully and though in certain
quarters it is thought this esti-
mate is too small Sully's usual
and known conservatism is hay-
ing its effeot. With the presont
demand for the staple and the
shortage that would result from
a 10000000 yield cotton can be
oounted upon to take a leap even
in advance of the prioes whioh
maintained for last season's
orop and this with the advioe of
Colonel Peters president of the
Cotlon Growers Association that
the farmers will make money by
holding and marketing: stowlyj it
is stated will soon make itwlfj
felt in the market. A number of
farmers within the past few days
have stated that they. iaalil' to
hold baok until the season has
become further advanced before!
