The Sparrows Quit.
5T. M. G. Maokeohhey says
that ho did not know that The
Reporter-expected a report when
people put up martin boxes.
He has'hadjOne up ajmonth or
more and it js how colonized
with martins.
Before the martins discovered
the now home tho sparrows took
possession made a nest and laid
eggs but the boys'' climbed up
anddestroyed the eggs and nest.
The next thing the family
knew the martins were there and
the sparrows had quit the; placo.
- If there wero any fights be-
tween themartins and sparrows
the -family did not notice them
but the faot remains that the
martins are there and the spar-
rows are gone.
This goes to. disprove the claim
of the Dallas News that the spar
rows Would drive out tho martins
and tako possession of their
homes.
If anyone else has had experi-
ence on this line we would bo
glad to learn what it is. .

San Angelo is to have a gas
plant for light fuel and power.
.Abilene is more than twice as big
as San Angelo and we wonder
why this town is not a good loca-
tion for a gas plant. Fuel gas
would pay big here and many
would use both gas and eleotrioi-
ty if gas could be had.
