ANNOUNCEMENTS
Saint Jo Has a Water System
Will it Have a Sewerage System?
r « - ' ' F
Our elevated water tank was, (this week, connected with
the water mains and will be filled as soon as new engines and
pumps are set.
Excavation is now being made for a 100,000-galIon con-
crete storage. %
Water pumped from the well will pass through the flow
tank and settling tank before reaching the ground storage, and
will be pumped at the rate of 150 gallon* p<ir minute from the
storage into the elevated tank.
The average daily supply will be sufficient! to entitle
the City to the lowest insurance' rat)e to be had, provided the
City will equip a voluntary fir^ department with necessary
fire-fighting equipment. -
• The plans and specifications for a sewe'rage sysltem
have been completed and everything is ready! to begin active
construction if the demand for the use of the system is suffi-
cient to justify the cost of installation*. If Saint Jo wants a
sewerage system, action is necessary.
