DANNY STRINGER
Come next Saturday, 60
boys will swarm into the
dugouts and stands of
Lone Star Steel's baseball
park across Highway 259
from the main plant en-
trance.
Their friends and par-
ents will be there also for
the annual All Star game
that climaxes Lone Star's
Little League Clinic. There
will be two games played,
starting at 9 a.m. Both
Little Leaguers and Pony
Leaguers will show off
the brand of baseball they
have learned during the
past weeks.
One of the coaches who
will be pulling hard for
"his boys" during the two
battles will be Danny
Stringer of Douglassville.
Stringer is a newcomer
to the clinic's coaching
ranks, but he is no strang-
er to baseball. A rolling
mill employee, he came to
Lone Star in June, 1953.
At that time he had a
number of years of base-
ball experience. He has
been active in semi-pro
ball since then.
Stringer, a keen com-
petitor. gives to his boys
every bit of baseball
knowledge he possesses
while they are with him.
He'll be watching Sat-
urday to see how much of
it they absorbed.
