holds reunion at
Wommack home
The Griffin family reunion
was held Sunday in the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Hix Wommack
and Mike.
Those present were Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Griffin of Long
Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs.
Cleatus Griffin and Linda of
Naples, Mr. and Mrs. Roy C.
Griffin, Roy Jr. and Harold, of
Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Greg-
ory of El Dorado, Ark., Mr.
and Mrs. Carlton Harrison of
Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Allen
McBee and Allison Kay of Kil-
gore, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Alton
Griffin of Linden, McKinley
Mayhaw, Loyce and Royce, of
Naples, and Martha Brown of
Bryans Mill.
The family plans to make
the reunion an annual affair.
Services held for
Tom C. Story,
lifelong resident
Tom C. Story, 80 year old
lifelong resident of Naples,
died last Wednesday at an At-
lanta hospital after a long ill-
ness.
He is survived by his wife;
two daughters, Mrs. Archie
Schoenahl of Boonville, Calif.,
and Mrs. Inez Dozier of De-
Kalb: three sisters, Mrs. Willis
Weams and Mrs. Collier Mc-
Daniel of DeKalb, and Mrs.
Maggie Boner of Simms; and
three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Dalton
Baptist Church with the Rev.
H. T. Burrows officiating.
Burial was in the Dalton Cem-
etery under the direction of
the Ha ner Funeral Home.

afternoon.
Mrs. Mary Lunsford is visit-
ing with her son, J. D. Luns-
ford, and family in Texarkana.
Missionary groups
complete drive
The Missionary Societies of
the Negro churches of Naples,
Antioch, Cottrell Chapel CME
and Morning Star Baptist, cli-
maxed a rally on the fifth
Sunday in March.
Committees were made up
of one member from each
church and included Mary
King, Inez Robinson and Eliza-
beth Stigers in one group,
Tommie K. Carter, Minnie L.
Talton and Veta Shepherd in
another, and Olvis McCann,
Zadie Bryant and Lillie Hill
on the third.
The presidents of each of
the churches, Bertha Reynolds,
Iowa Jackson and Mattie Harp,
worked with each group.
The first group raised $167.-
50, the second $111.26, and
the third $213.57. The total
amount raised was $524.04 and
each group received $172.68.
Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Fletcher
Jr. and Renea of Dallas spent
the Easter week end with Mr.
and Mrs. S. E. Fletcher Sr. and
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stone and
Laticia.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cook
of Liberal, Kan., spent several
days last week visiting with
her parents, Mr. and S. E.
Fletcher, and sister, Mrs. J. P.
Stone and family.
Mrs. Frances Morgan, Kathy
and Becky, of Marietta, spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Hardman Craig. Mrs. Craig re-
turned Thursday afternoon
from St. Michael's Hospital in
Texarkana where she was a
patient for two days.
Mrs. Odelice Wommack of
Linden visited in the Fletcher
home Tuesday night of last
week.
Mrs. Skeet Welsh and John
Thigpen spent Sunday in Gil-
mer with Mr. and Mrs. Ward
Thigpen.
Mrs. Suzanne Newby of Tex-
arkana spent the week end
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Elledge. Mr. and Mrs.
Bobby Lineberger of Omaha
were visitors Sunday after-
noon.
Mrs. Willie James Palmore
spent Saturday in Picton with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Johnnie Points. Melinda Pal-

er after spending the past
week with her grandparents.
