When 11 light and power companies, in-
cluding Southwestern Gas and Electric Com-
pany, made an offer recently to purchase all
power produced at dual-purpose government
dams, the people gave us a hand. You com-
mended our Company because acceptance of
the offer by the Southwestern Power Admin-
istration would mean a saving of over $200,-
000,000 to you, the taxpayers of the nation.
The Southwestern Power Administra-
tion proposes to build duplicating trans-
p ission lines and steam generating plants
in a six-state area now adequately served
by Southwestern Gas and Electric Com-
pany and the other companies. The SPA
proposes to spend of your money:
a. $125,000,000 in building duplicating
transmission lines.
b. $80,000,000, or more, for steam power
plants, not needed.
c. $20,000,000, or more, for administrative
expenses.
Southwestern and the 10 other com-
panies offer to:
1. Buy all power from dual-purpose dams
at a price set by the Army Engineers.
2. Build at their own expense any added
lines or other facilities needed to dis-
tribute the power.
3. Give preference to governmental bodies
for governmental use and to rural elec-
tric cooperatives in distributing the
power.
'4. Pass on to all other customers any sav-
ings that may accrue as prescribed by
.the proper regulatory bodies.

When Your
Back Hurts
And Your Strength and
Energy Is Below Par
It may be caused by disordor of kid-
ney function that permits poisonous
waste to accumulate. For truly many
people feel tired, weak and miserable
when the kidneys fail to remove excess
acids and other waste matter from the
blood.
You may suffer nagging backache,
rhcumatic pains, headaches, dizziness,
getting up nights, leg pains, swelling.
Sometimes frequent and scanty urina-
tion with sranrting and burning is an-
other sign that something is wrong with
the kidneys or bladder.
There should be no doubt that prompt
treatment, is wiser than neglect. Use
Doan'n Pills. It is better to rely on a
medicine that has won countrywide ap-
proval than on something less favorably
known. Donti'* have been tried and test-
ed many years. Are at all drug stores.
