The wedding of Miss Linda
Griffin to Kenneth Fuchs of
Thrall, Texas was an event of
Saturday, Sept. 18, at the
Rocky Point Congregational -
Methodist Church.
Officiating in the evening
ceremony was the Rev. Bill
Harty, pastor of the church.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Cleatus Griffin
of Naples. The bridegroom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam G. Fuchs of Thrall.
The church was lighted with
three candelabra and decorat-
ed with white gladioli.
Miss Dianne Womack and
Miss Virginia Hawkins lighted
the candles while Mrs. Paul El-
rod presented nuptial music.
Mrs. Elrod also accompanied
Mrs. Victor Moore as she sang
"Whither Thou Goest" and
"The Wedding Prayer".
Given in nurriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor-
length gown of white chantilly
lace over taffeta. The fitted
bodice was sprinkled with tiny
seed pearls and featured a
scalloped neckline and short
sleeves. Her elbow-length veil
of silk illusion cascaded from
a bridal crown of seed pearls,
and she carried a bouquet of
white carnations attached to a
pearl-covered Bible. The bride
wore the traditional "some-
thing old, new, borrowed, blue
and a sixpence in her shoe".
She carried a handkerchief
of Battenberg lace 'rom Brus-
sels, Belguim. The 3ible was
from Bethlehem and the six-
pence from London and all
were a gift from her aunt of
Dallas.
Mrs. Linda Griffin, sister-in-
law of the bride, served as
matron of honor. She wore a
street-length gown of pale blue
brocade, styled with a scallop-
ed necklnie, short sleeves, and
a pleated skirt. She wore a
small pale blue hat and carried
a nosegay of white carnations.
James Lanzoch of Taylor, a
friend of the bridegroom, serv-
ed as best man. Ushers were
Walter Ray Fuchs of Ft. Worth,
brother of the bridegroom,
and Roy Alton Griffin of Long-
view, the bride's brother.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Griffin chose a blue dress
and matching hat of bonded
crepe. Her corsage was a white
carnations.
Mrs. Fuch's chose for her
son's wedding a cranberry-col-
ored dress and wore a pink
hat. Her corsage was of pink
carnations.
A reception was held in the
home of the bride's parents.
The bride's table was laid with
a floor-length cloth of white
taffeta with a white net over-
skirt. The table was decorated
with an arrangement of blue
and white stephanotis. Burn-
ing tapers surrounded the ai-
rangement.
Mrs. Leona Bogioch. the
bridegroom's aunt, served the

Wanda Allen YWA's of the
Naples First Baptist Church in
the regular meeting Wednes-
day night.
Present were Paula Wynine-
gar, Gail Ranes, Rita Barnes,
Marvadene Brock and Mrs.
Clifton Brock.
In a special meeting of xhe
auxiliary, Rita Barnes present
ed a program on state mis-
sions. Present were Gail Ranes.
Rita Barnes and Mrs. W. C.
Sullivan.
PERSONAL
Mrs. R. L. Latham of Grand
Prairie visited from Thursday
until Monday with her mother,
Mrs. J. M. Spencer, and other
relatives at Naples.
Freddie Page and Ricky
Towler, students at Stephen F.
Austin College at Nacogdoch-
es, visited with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Page and
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Towler,
over the week end.
Week end visitors with Mr .
L L. Triiitt were her brother,
R. M. Taylor and daughter,
Mrs. BiU Casson. and her two
" "dren from Hope, Ark, and
Mrs. Truitt's son, Vernon, of
Texarkana. Mr. and Mrs. Baldy |

cake, and Mrs. Doris Fuchs,
h's sister-in-law, poured the
punch. The guests were regis-
tered by Miss Anita Penney.
Following the reception, the
couple lefi for a short wedding
trip. For travel the bride wore
a vanilla Irish linen suit with
bronze accessories. Her cor-
sage was an orchid.
The bride is a 1964 gradu-
ate of Paul H. Pewitt High
School and attended East Tex-
as State University. The bride-
groom is a graduate of Thrall
High School and has attended
Texas Lutheran College in Se-
guin and the University of
Texas in Austin. He received
his bachelor of arts degree
from East Texas State Univer-
sity.
The couple will make their
home in Thrall.
Out of town guests attend-
ing the wedding were Mr. and
Mrs. Lester Gregory of El
Dorado, Ark., Mr. and Mrs.
Carlton Harrison cf Dallas,
Mrs. Morris Griffin of Com-
merce, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lan-
caster of Ft. Worth, Mr. and
Mrs. Allen McBee and Allison
Kay of Kilgore and Mr. and
Mrs. Nathan Wommack of Dal-
las.
Also, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy
Lancaster of Ft. Worth, Mr.
and Mrs. William G. Fuchs of
Thrall, Texas, Mr. and Mrs.
Gene Fuchs, David and Cheryl
of San Antonio and Mrs. Leona
Bogisch of Seguin, Texas.

The Jonquil Garden Club
held its first meeting of the
new year Monday night at the
home of Mrs. Clifton Brock.
Mrs. Lacy Mills and Mrs.
John Wright were co-hostesses.
Sixteen members were pres-
ent.
A short business meeting
was held and the Constitution
was read by the secretary. Re-

Will wed Naples man
Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Cornett of the Cornett community have
announced the approaching marriage of their daughter,
June, to Noel Higgins, the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Higgins
of Naples. The future bride graduated from East Texas
State University and is presently employed as assistant
home demonstration agent in Sulphur Springs. The pros-
pective bridegroom is employed as an electronic accounting
machine operator at Red River Army Depot. He graduated
from Paul H. Pewitt lligh School. The wedding will be an
event of Oct. 23 at the Cornett Methodist Church. All rel-
atives and friends are invited.
