Ton That Dinh, interior min-

Gen. Khanh indicated that
the alleged neutralist plot was
to coincide with De Gaulle's
recognition of Communist
China and hinged upon the
French proposal for a neutral-
ist solution to this nation's
war against Communist Viet
Cong guerrillas.

conversion of the 24-year-
old Princess, the second
daughter of Queen Juliana
and Prince Bernhard, by
Bernardus Johannes Card-
inal Alfrink, the Roman
Catholic archbishop of
Utrecht, Netherlands.
The prettiest of the
Netherlands' four bachelor
princesses, Irene denied
rumors last week that she
was to become engaged to
a 25-year-old Spaniard,
Don Juan Bosco Alvear.
They were described as
simply good friends.
At the same time Irene
professed admiration for
Spain, a Roman Catholic
nation against which the
Dutch founght an 80-year
war (1568-1648) for relig-
ious freedom.
She was criticized for
this by Liberal and Social-
ist newspapers. They
charged she had acted un-
constitutionally by indi-
rectly entering the political
field.
First in line for succes-
sion to the throne is her
elder sister, Princess Be-
atrix. Beatrix will be 26
