C. 20408 WORTH 3-6637 or WORTH 3-6331 June 25, 1964 Mr. Jesse Edward Curry Chief of Police Dallas Police Department Dallas, Texas Dear Mr. Curry, In brief introduction, I have been invited by Mrs. John F. Kennedy to write an historical account of the events of and surrounding the death of President Kennedy. The enclosed announce- ment describes the nature of the project. I expect to be in Texas late this summer, and I would be most grateful if you and I could talk then. I know that Mrs. Kennedy would appreciate it, too. During July I shall be working in New England, and my address then will be 115 High Street, Middletown, Connecticut. After August 1, I shall be back in this office. It would be extremely useful to me if you could send me a telephone number at which you can be reached in August and September. If the number is unlisted I shall, of course, treat it with discretion. Faithfully, m William Manchester
