November 7% 1963 Dallas Police Department Dallas, Texas Gentlemen: Three cheers for Jack Rubenstein, a truly courageous and great American. He only did what thousands or even millions of Americans would have been glad to do if afforded the privilege or opportunity to do it. The only thing wrong with what he did was that it was too good an end for the ruthless maniacial killer LeeHarvey Oswald. He should have been slowly tortured to death for MS taking the life of our great President, John F. Kennedy and thus leaving his most gracious and attractive wife without a husband and his two small children without a father mucli less the fact that our American Nation has lost its duly elected leader. If this nation lives for a thousand years or longer the City of Dallas, Texas and each and everyone of its residents will live forever under the stigmas of infamy, UNLESS Mr. Jack Rubenstein is allowed to go scott free of killing Oswald. If you through your Prosecuting Attorney demand any stiff penalty or even death in the electric chair for Mr. Rubenstein, it will only make millions of Americans wonder if your Dallas Police Force and Courts condone and abet the actions of a vicious and ruthless killer such as Oswald who not only kdlled our beloved President but one of your own beloved policemen. In fact if Mr. Rubenstein were in need of funds for use in his defense, I would gladly contribute towards it and I tun certain many other Americans would also. HereS)sincerely hoping that the great City of Dallas, Texas will go on record before the entire world and let everyone know that the entire citizenry is enraged at the cowardly act of Lee Harvey Oswald, and eliminate any stigma from its environs for the assassination of President Kennedy; by finding some legal way to free Mr. Jack Rubenstein from any serious charges including the death penalty for the slaying of a ruthless monster such as Lee Harvey Oswald. The name of Mr. Jack Rubenstein will forever live in the memory of myself, my wife and children as a most courageous and a very brave American. I would greatly appreciate it if a copy of this letter could be forwarded to the relatives of or to Jack Rubenstein himself to let him know what a goodly number of us feel towards him for his great aot of heroism. Very truly yours, This is not a crank letter. I have been a strict law abiding citizen but have merely expressed how outraged I feel at a «nr>h as Oswald and the ultimate protection he is offered and affor^ our laws. This is one fiend who did not get away with his cr through the laxness of our courts. Wrois llne 3 .DATE' /)
