Subjecti Interview Of Jack £uby

At approximately Ili30 A*M. , Eovonber 2k, 1962 Chief J* £• Curxy
approached ae just outside his office and instructed m to escort
Mr« Forrest V* Sorrells to the Fifth rioor Jail for the purpose of
Mr. Sorrolls interviewing Mr* Jack Suby about his shooting of Lee
Harvey Oswald, accused assasin of President Kennedy.
I was present throughout the interview and overheard the following
questions asked of Suby by Mr* Sorrolls* After Sorrolls introduced
himself as a Secret Service Agent he asked Ruby why he had shot
Oswald. liuby stated he had thought about this for two days and
decided it was senseless to have a long and lengthly trial and
subject Mrs# Kennedy to having to return to Dallas for it.
Kr. Sorrella asked Kuby if he know Oswald and he sold, "Ho, there
is no acquaintance or connection between Oswald and aysolf*"
Sorrolls then questioned Euby about his heritage and Buby told Mia
that hie father was born in I&ssia and his mother was bom in Poland*
Worrells asked Buby if he had thought or planned to kill Oswald and
Kuby stated he first thought of killing his when he observed Oswald
in the showup rooa two ni&hts prior. He stated the thought cane to
his when he observed the sarcastic sneer on Oswald's face when he was
6n the showup stage* He stated that when he saw Oswald on that night
he thought it would be ridiculous to have a trial for him when he knew
the results would be the death penalty* since Oswald had killed the
President and Officer Tippit*,
Suby also stated that he and his sister were veiy emotional people
and that his sister had just gotten out of the hospital and she also
was taking this hard, and that with the facts of the incidents already
known to hira was the motivation for his shooting Oswald* Baby then
stated ease words to the effect, "J also want the world to know that
Jows do have guts*"
Kubyfe answers and appearance throughout the interview appeared rational
to ise with the exception to tears in his eyes when he referred to
President Kennedy*
