County—Greetirg:
You are hereby commanded to sum-
mon Ira Williams, by making publica-
tion of this Citation once in each for four
successive weeks previous to the return
day hereof, in some newspaper publish-
ed in your county, to appear at the next
regular term of the District Court of
Cass County, to be holdeu at the Court
House thereof, in Linden, Texas, on the
3rd, Monday in March A. D: 1924, the
same being the 17th, day of March A. D.
1924, then and there to answtr a petition
filed in said Court on the «'6th. day of
Jan. A. D. 1924, in a suit, numbered on
the docket of said Court No. 8129 where-
in Annie Bell Williams is Plaintiff, and
Ira Williams is Defendant, and said pe-
tition alleging being a suit for divorce.
Alleging cruel treatment and abandon-
ment, Wherefore, plaintiff prays that
defendant be cited by publication to an-
swer this petition and on a hearing here-
of, that she have an order of this Court
forever severing the bonds of matrimony
heretofore existing and that she recover
against defendant in this behalf extend-
ed.
Herein fail not, but have before said
Court,fit its aforesaid next regular term,
this writ with your return thereon, (Mm*"
ing how you have executed the same.

For the Fair.

Nearly two thousand dollars
was subscribed at a meeting
here yesterday for the purpose
of making the necessary prepar
ation for takiug care of the Cass
County Fait.

A committee was appointed
to select a site suitable for the
fair grounds, and this commit-
tee is to meet tonight to consid-
er the diffeient locations sug-
gested. A general meeting is
called again for Thursday night,
for the committee to make its
report, at which time the body
will be expected to ratify or re-
ject the action of the committee.
A full attendance 'is desired at
this meeting.
The Parent-Teacher Associa-
tion met at the school building
ing Jan. 24. 1024.
The bouse being called to or-
der we had a short business ses-
sion. i ■
We discussed the best ways to
keep the earn off tbe school
ground. We appointed a com-
mittee to confer with tbe proper
authorities in regard to this.
We decided to have our Jan.
program Tuesday evening.
We had a large crowd and we
trust that they will all come
again.
Don't fail to be at the school
auditorium at 7 o'clock to-night
(Tuesday Jan. 29 24.)
The Parent Teachers Associa-
tion will render a "Stunt Pro-
gram." You can't afford to miss
it. Some of tbe attractions are:

Five Acre Cotton Contest
for Cass County.
Below is a list of the premiums
aud rub*s and regulations gov-
erning thn contest. Tbe premi-
ums are offered by T. R. Richey,
of Atlanta, Texas and the con-
rest is open to any person in Caws
County, subject to the regula-
tions specified below, who desires
to enter the contest). These pre-
miums are given for the greatest
yield of lint cotton raised on 5
acres of land. - *
1 at prize #100.00
2nd - $75 00
3rd " $50.00
4 Mi " $25.00
There is also a special prize of
$25.00 to any one who wins one
of these prizes provided he bus
used Sulphate of Ammonia pur
chased from a Ford plant or in
other words'has used Fords fer
tilizer in connection with the fer-
tilization of this five acres.
Rule 1. The plot of ground
must consist of 5 continuous
acres measured ground and not
in separate plots.
Rule 2. Each contestant is re-
quired to make an affidavit as to
the yield.
Rule 3. Each contestant will be
required to register with T. R.
Richey, of Atlanta, or J. M. Mar-
tin, Linden, by April 1st. (This
can be done by mail. Simply
send your narue and address,
stating that you desire to enter
the contest.)
Rule 4. A committee of at least-
three disinterested men will be
selected to visit the various plots
for the purpose of comparison.
Rule 5. Cultivation, fertiliza-
tion and insect control will be
left entirely to each individual
judgment, unless information is
desired, if so, the County Agent,
J. M. Martin, of Linden Texas,
will gladly render whatever as-
sistance possible.
Rule 6. Tbe Committee men-
tioned in rule 4 will award tbe
premiums.
Rule 7. Tbe premiums will be
awarded on the basis of tbe great
est amount of lint cotton pro-
duced on 5 acres.
Every man who possibly can
should enter tbis contest. If you
donotwin'a premium you will
not be any worse off.

Jefferson girls by the score of
33 to 12 at the Jefferson girts
court.
On the same date tbe Linrea
Senior boys defeated the Bryans

10 on Bryans Mill court.
On the 25th the Hughes
Springs Senior boys defeated
tbo Bloomburg hoy* on the Lin-
den court bv a score of 15 to 14.
The Linden Senior noys will
meet the Atlanta boys on ttie
Li; den court at 2:30 o'clock
today. Come and see the game.

Basket Ball Tournament.
The Basitet Ball Tournament
for Case County will be in Lin-
den Saturday Feb. 2 at 9 o'clock.
It will be decided then what
teams are eligible to play off the
fiuals. A referee from out of tbe
county will be obtained if possi-
ble.
The regular t.'ounty Interseho-
lastic meet will be held at Lindeu
Saturday March 22nd.
1 would like to see every white
school in the county take part in
some of the events in the county
meet. Every school cau have
contestants in ' spelling, pssav
writingand declamation. If you
bave not paid your fee, mail it
as soon as possible to me or di-
rect to the chairman of the Stat<
Interscholastic League at Auetin.

start your contestants to work
at once. Let's make this the best
Interscholastic meet ever held in
