Came on to be considered the petition
of T. D. Ford and 119 others, praying
that bonds be issued by Justice Precinbt
No. 1, in Cass County, Texas, in the
sum of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand
Dollars, bearing five and one-half per
cent (5 1-2 per cent) rate of interest,
maturing at such time as may be fixed
by the Commissioners Court, serially or
otherwise, not to exceed thirty years
from date thereof, for the purpose of the
purchase and construction of district
roads and the further construction,main-
tenance and operation of macadamized,
graveled or paved roads and turnpikes
or in aid thereof throughout said Justice
Prc(cinct No. 1, for the purpose of retir-
ing outstanding bonds in their respective
road districts within said Justice Pre-
cinct No. 1; and for the purpose of fur-
ther construction and maintenance of
macadamized, graveled or paved roads
and turnpikes or in aid thereof through-
out said precinct No. 1; and whether or
not a tax shall be levied upon the prop-
erty of said Justice Precinct No. 1, of
Cass County, Texas, subjcct to taxation,
for the purpose of paying the interest on
said bonds and to provide a sinking
fund for the redemption thereof at ma-
turity; and it appearing to the Court
that said petition is signed by more
than fifty qualified resident property tax
paying voters of said Justice Precinct
No. 1, Cass County, Texas, and it fur-
ther appearing that the amount of bonds
to be issued will not exceed one-fourth
of the valuation of real property of said
Justice Precinct No. I, cf Cass county,
Texas, which has duly been established
by an order of the Commissioners .Court
of Cass county, on August 6th, I860,
which is recorded in Volume "OO,"
page 118, of Commissioner's Minutes,
Cass county, Texas, ltd the boundaries
thereof are herein described and defined
as described in the order of the Commis-
sioners Court establishing said Justice
Precinct No. 1, as follows, to-wit:
Beginning on the north line of Marion
county at the point where Black Cypress
Bayou enters said county and runs north
with the meanderings of same to the
mouth of Kelly's Creek, on north with
Kelly's Creek to the point wh re said
creek crosses the N line of the H. Buck-
tier survey of land;
Thence E. with N. line of same S. line
of J. Nail and W. F. Young surveys
crossing Flat Creek and on east on a
straight line to the S line of the John
Lick League Survey and W. Donaho to
the channel of Johns Bayou;
Thence S. with the W. bank of said
Bayou to where it enters Frazior's Bayou
and on S. with said Frazior's Bayou to
the N. line of Marion county;
Thi-uce W. with N line of same to
Black Cypress Bayou the place of begin-
ning.
And it further appearing that said
district does not embrace any part of
any political subdivision or defined road
district that has been heretofore estab
lished and has issued bonds which are
outstanding and unpaid, except Road
Districts Numbers One, Four, Six, Nine,
Eleven, and Thirteen, the ag-
gregate of whose outstanding and unpaid
bond issues is the sum of One Hundred
Six Thousand ($106,000.00} Dollars, all
of which amount is to be retired out o*
the pioceeds of the bonds to be issued
hereunder.
It is therefore considered and ordered
by the Court that an election be held in
said Justice Preciuct No. 1, of Cass
county, Texas, on the 14th d iy of March
A. D. 1024, which is not less than thirty
g«£ j days from the date of this order, to de-
5? termitie whether or not the bonds of said
J® i Justice Precinct No 1, of Cass County,
Texas, shall he issued in the amount of

voters of this State and of this County
who are resident property tax payers in i

ty, Texas, shall be entittUd to vot«, at
said election. And all vuters desiring to |
support the proposition to issue thebonds 1
shall have written or printed on their '
ballots the words:
"For the issuance of the Bonds and
the levying of the Tax in payment
therefor."
And those opposed to the proposition
shall have printed or written on their
ballots:
"Against the issuance of the Bonds
and the levying of the tax in payment
therefor:"
The Polling places and presiding offi-
cers of said election shall be respective-
ly as follows:
Linden, with S. L. Harper as Presid-
ing Officcr.
Lanier, with John Dodd a9 Presiding
Officer.
Kildare, with Bob Moore as Presiking
Officer.
Lewis, with G. W. Whatley as Presid-
ing Officer.
Bear Creek, with J. C. Erwin as Pre-
siding Officer.
Concord, with Harvey Ray as Presid-
ing Officer.
Galloway, with C. C. Hines as Pre-
siding Officer.
Roach, with J. O. Cowgill as Presid-
ing Officer.
The manner of holding said election
shall be goverened by the General Laws
of the State of Texas, regulating general
elections, when not in conflict with the
provisions of the Statute hereinabove
referred to.
Notice of said election shall be given
by publication of a coyy of ibis order
in The Cass County Sun, a newspaper
published in Justiee Precinct No. 1,
Cass county, Texas, for four successive
weeks before the date of said election,
and in addition thereto there shall be
posted other copies of this order at three
public places in Justice Precinct No. 1
of Caas county, Texas, one of which
shall be at the Court House door, for
three weeks prior to said election.
The County Judge is hereby directed
to cause said notices to be published
and posted as hereinabove directed at.d
further ordered or reserved until the re-
turns of said election are made by the
duly authorized election officers and re-
