For Tax Assessor.
We Iimvh been auth-orixHii to
anuouuct' Mr. Nay Barker, of our
town, a« a candidate for the of-
fice of Tax Assessor of Cass couu-
ty, aubj'ecG to the action of the
democratic primary to be held in
•tolly.
lit Barker is well flted to dis-
charge the duties of-the office to
which h« aspires, having bad
considerable experience in office
work, both in abstracting and iu
the Assessor's office.
If elected we feel sure he will go
into the office with a full sense of
the responsibility- reposed in hiui
and perform bis duty iu a meri
torious manner with credit to
For Commissioner.
W# bave been requested to an-
nounce J. 0- (Jesse) Erwin as a
candidate for the office of Com-
missioner of Precinct one, com-
posed oi justice 1'recints i and 8,
subject to the action of the dem-
ocratic primary to be held in
July.
Mr. Erwin has spent nearly all
his life in preciut one, in t he occu-
pation of farming, and is well
known to most everybody. He
is thoroughly qualified to dis-
charge the duties of the ^office in
such a way as to meet the ap-
provaLof all concerned.
He will appreciate your vote
and influence in the coming elec-
tion,
Announcement.
TO THE VOTERS OIJCASS CO.
I am announcing my candida-
cy for the office of County Attor-
ney subiect to the democratic
primary in July
1 an) announcing at this early
date so that there can be no mis-
apprehension of my intentions
I have been told by others, who
would be interested iu announc-
ing for this office that if I did not
offer for reelection, they would
consider running for the office.
I take this oppojtunity to
himself and to the people of the ^thank the voters of the county
for my electiou to this importaut
office of the people.
Ic has beeu mv constant inten-
tion to keep this office at the
highest possible standard of effi-
ciency. I came into the office
with but little experience in the
court room, and 1 have tried by
study, energy and precept to
make as efficieut public servaut
as was possible. This is not a
high paying office, and on a count
ot nature of the work, a large
county, and condition of the
roads, it is a very expensive of-
fice if properly filled. 1 have giv-
en more thought to au efficient
discharge of the duties of this of
tice than I have to any thought
of a re election, believing that
the public servant, who spends
his first term iu office with the
main thought on re-election can-
not most efficiently perform the
duties oi the olfioe, mj 1 pledge
you the same energetic atteutiou
to the duties of this office ou a
second term, with that added ef-
ficiency that should come with
acquain-
tance iu any line of endeavor.
Obediently,
Burr S. Cameron.
"COLD IN ihb HEAD'-
roanty. He will appreciate your
careful consideration of bis
claims when you go to vote.
For Commissioner,
We are authorized to announce
that Mr. Homer Lummus will be
a candidate for Commissioner of
beats 1 and 8, subject to the ac-
tion of the democratic primary
ia July, 1924.
Mr. Lummus was born and
reared in Cass county and'ha'
lived in the town of Linden i tie
past 14 years. Fou-r years «go
he made the race for commission
er, received a good vote, but was
defeated; he did not make the
race two years ago, but now
eom^s to the voters of the com-
n'lssioners precinct and asks that
they el^ct him their commission-
er. Mr. Lummus promises a
faithful and energetic discharge
of the duties iucuiubent upon a
commissioner.
