ed at O'Farrell, July 27, 1900.
Tbe bouse was called to order by
Pres. Opened with religious
services.

Welcome address by Prof. J. K
\oung in bis affable manner of
delivering sarna made all feel wel-
come.
Prof. Major Graaberry being
absent Prof. R Z. Salmon re-
sponded in bis stead to the de-
light of all present.
Subject—What should be the
qualifications of trustees, was
postponed until Saturday.
"Some dou'ts for teachers," by
Miss Lena Fraziorper Miss Alice
Baker which were timely aud to
tbe point.
Subject—Is the teacher born or
made, postponed until Saturday.
Subject—How can we induce
pareuts and patrons to visit the
school, by Prof. R Z Salmon
who made an eloquent talk.

Afternoon Session.
Nominations were made for
Pres. Prof. Weaver was nomi
nated, also Profs. T. B. Price
and J. Hayoes. but at their re-
quest their names were with
drawn, and Prof. L. C. Weaver
was elected.
Prof. J. K. Young was then
nominated fluid elected vice-pre-
sident by acclamation, Miss Alva
Perkins was elected secretary in
same way.

A motion was made and car-
ried that Prof. L. C. Weaver be
appointed as a committee of one
to have tbe program printed and
sent with an invitation to each
teacher in the county.
Tbe following resolution was
passed by Institute.
Resolved: That the Cass Co.,
Institute, do tender their heart-
felt thanks to the people and ci-
tizens of O'Karrell for the hospi-
tal manner iu which tbey cared
for and entertained the teachers
The Boys Basket Ball
Tournament for Cuss County
will be held at Hughes Springs
Feb. 16 Teams and Coaches
will be expected to be on hand
and that they always be held in ! by 9.30 a. m. We would like to
have present all elegible teams.
You will meet some keen com-
petition and thereby gain expe-
rience that you would not other-
wise gain.

any one engaged in the electric
light and power industry is eli-
gible, are annouoced by the Na
tional Electric Light Association
Papers must he submitted to tbe
Secretary, 420 Lexington Ave ,

1929, and the awards will be
made at the annual convention
at Atlantic City, Juno 3 7. Tbe
prizes are announced as follows;
Doherty Prize—a gold medal
for tbe best paper on any subject

Harriet Billings Priz*-—Fifty
dollars in cash for the second
bt-st paper on any subject rela
ting to the electric light aud
power industry.

priz"—two hundred and fifty,
$150 and $100 tor the three beat

the usefulness of accountants in
the public utility industry.
Martin J Instill Public Rela-

ported Mr. King better, after
