Mineral Wells & Northwestern. It has been recently announced that the 'Chicago, Hock island &
Gulf will begin building from Bridgeport to Weatherford within a few days.
The W#a herford & Ft. Worth Interurban is now under construction, with 100 teams n'- wmi;
and more are being added. Gid. II. Turner, who in building this road, says that he *\ill run cum
over it within ten months.
The W., M. W. &. N. W. is extending its line to Roswell, New Mexico, which will mean an addition
to its machine shops and general office, located tit Weatherford.
Weatherford has excellent water works (deep wells), sewerage, gas, electric lights jmJ two tele-
phone systems itn;l all civic conveniences necessary to a well appointed city.
Weatherford has four banks with a combined capitalization of $500,000:00 and deposits .of
nearly $2,000,000. 0 on daily balances.
Weatherford lias three cotton gins, a large compress, cotton-seed oil mill two ivon foundries -?iud
machine shops, several of the largest wholesale dry goods, hardware and grocery houses intliestati?,
anil a pay role of over $50,000,00 a month.
Parker County raised this year 80,000 head cattle, 75,000 bales cotton, 600,000 bushels ronts,
1.000,000 bushels corn, 25,000 bushels pototoes. Land $20 to £50 per acre and p;ouig up •everv
