ENGAGEMENT' ANNOUNCED
Announcement has been made
of the engagement and approach-
ing marriage of Miss Joanne As-
kins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James Mark Askins of Lufkin, to
William G. Love, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Wallace E. Love of Rusk.
The wedding is scheduled to
take place Sunday afternoon, Au-
gust 22, at 5 o'clock in the First
Methodist Chuch of Lufkin, offic-
iated by Rev. R. C. Terry.
Mliss Askins, who graduated
from Lon Morris College in 1947,
has been employed since gradua-
tion as Dr. C. E. Peeple's secre-
tary. While in college she was a
member of Zeta Gamma sorority,
the sextet, girls' trio, the Diamon-
deers and for three yeaxs was so-
loist with the college choir.
The groom-to-be is a May grad-
uate of Lon Moxtis college and was
a member of Mavericks, president
of the veterans' organization and.'
president of the student body in
the summer of 1947.
Following -their marriage, the
couple plan to make their home in
Nashville, Tenn., where Mi\ Love
will enter law school at Vander-
bilt University—Jacksonville, Pro-
gress.

Lovelace attended the East Texas
Dental Association in Longview
Tuesday.
Mrs. Fay Wadkins of Jackson-
ville spent Tuesday with Mrs. Lela
Barrett.
