and detective work which result-

enough to have gained the prop-
er experience as a peace officer
and yet young enough to vig-
orously enforce the law.
I have endeavored at all times
to demean myself properly and
courageously when the occasion
demanded and vigorously to en-
force the law without unduly giv-
ing affront to those whose family
and friends were unfortunately in
the toils of the law.
1 have particularly endeavored
to learn all of the aspects of the
Sheriff's office, civil as well as
criminal, and have served my
portion of the time in handling of
civil processes, acting as a travel-
ling or riding deputy, acting as
bailiff for the services of the
Grand Jury, etc., but have partic-
ularly interested myself and con-
fined my activities to the actual
investigation and detection of
criminal violations, seeking to
bring those to justice who have
violated the laws in Collin Coun-
ty, which work is, in my opinion,
the most important work of the
Sheriff's office, and it is there-
fore, with pardonable pride, I be-
lieve, that I state that I feel I am
fully able and informed with the
necessary routine of office to
make Collin County a Sheriff and
officer of which it would be in all
things proud. In connection with
investigation of criminal work,
which I have outlined above, I
will state that I have helped in
the fingerprint and identification
bureau system followed by our
local Sheriff's office and am fully
acquainted with the niceties of
this work.
It is my intention to try to sec
the bulk of the voters of Collin
County during the coming cam-
paign and I urge your earnest
consideration of my candidacy
for the reasons outlined above. I
