Good lighting around the
farmstead can provide
farm families year
round benefits, accord-
ing to County Agent
James R. Risinger.
These include keeping
wild animals and prow-
lers away, preventing
falls and accidents,
saving time in farmstead
night work and making
activities in the building
area easier, the agent
says.
The new mercury-vapor
yard light is one of the
best lights available.
Where located near the
middle of the building
area, it provides enough
light to adequately cover

rapidly gaining in popu-
larity over the 175-watt
size.
The fixtures have a
built-in photoelectric
control to automatically
turn the light on at dusk
and off in the morning.
The mecury bulb has a
rated life of 16,000
hours. This would be
about four years of
operation under auto-
matic control.
Many electric power
suppliers have a rental
plan by which these
lamps can be installed
and permanently main-
tained for a small
monthly charge.

The Flower Show visitor

topped by a Brobdingna-
gian ' mirror". The
visitor will climb the
gradual stairway and
then walk around the

glass
Here, says Mr. Weat-
herly, everyone will be
astounded by the pro-
fusion of colors in the
tremendous high-roofed
main bay of the Flower
Show.
The mezzanine beyond
the looking glass will
overlook a three-level
staircase which will
feature multi-level gar-
dens. Each jewel-like
garden will accent one
particular type of plant
or flower.
"This show ranks
second in importance
nationally only to the
New York show, and our
1967 effort will be our
largest to date," said
Mr. Weatherly
