of age and had been in ill health for

There are. few things more palatable
than a really good sandwich and even
with inferior bread and the simplest
or fillings fair success may 1)e ob-
tained by slicing the bread thin and
with scissors trim Joff all the crusts;
and after the filling is in wrap -in oiled
paper then in a cloMi wct and wring
almost dry and again wrap id news-
paper. They .will then keep moist but
not soggy.
Apple and Sut SahdIcl"i.
Peel the apples cut in thin bread sli-
ces dip in any desired salad dressing
place on slices of bread that have
neen buttered or spread lightly with
dressing. Sprinkle the apple thickly
with pecans or walnuts cut fine a
little shredded lettuce or chopped
parsley.-Place a second slice of bread
on tliis. Baiianna or pineapple applied
in the same manner; are delicious
j served with iced tea but the. fruit;
'should be embedded in lettuce leaves
to prevent too much moisture bein'g:
