to adopt an ordinance amending Hhe
controversial law and just now gives
indication that it will neither repeal
nor amend It.-
Between the two extremes there
ought to be a common point upon
which all may agree. If peddling s

cealsed and controlled by the city.
Meantime the anti-peddling ordinance
ought to be strictly enforced because
it is only through the enforcement of
Its ordinances that the city govern-

forced or if in the opinion of the
Council It should not be enforced
then it should be repealed .and a new
ordinance designed to satisfactorily
meet the requirements of the situa-
tion should be prepared and adopted.

engineer on the' 'John Baitman was
the grumpiest mortal Jim ha8 come

work at any job on the boat he wished

and orderliness of the engine room
hoped to secure a job for two days
there.

Old Turner grunted and still barred

Inasmuch as much of the story of
"The Woman God Changed" has to do
with; a tropical island the company
plaving the various roles in this
splendid Paramount-Cosmopolitan pic
ture which will be displayed at the
Lyric theatre' today was carried to. the
Bahama Islands off the 'coast of
Florida on a specially chartered
steamer where for two weeks Seeint
Owen and E. K. Lincoln who are
seen ps castaways on an island were
kept busy by Director Robert G. Vig-
nola his cameramen and assistants.
The burning and sinking of a steam-
ship following an explosion of am
munition was faithfully pictured and
the casualty (in the picture oniy)
proved quite exciting. Other scenes
notably a remarkable cloud effect
were "shot" with excellent results.
"The Woman God Changed" is a beau-
tiful photoplay and fully up to the
high standard set by Paramount.
