Worth Record
Tho Commissioners Court of Brown
County will aid in diversification by
offering a bounty of Jack Rabbit
scalps. This has been definitely de-
cided though the exact amount has
not yet been named but will probably
bo flvo cents on overy scalp brought
to them It is also likely that they will
require an afTidavitt that the Jack
rabbits were killed in Brown County.
This lids been brought about by
reason of the allegations of Farmers
that It was useless to plant peanuts
sweet potatoes peas and beans and
liko crops on account of the Jack
rabbits which have been very trouble
some for the past year evidently hav
Ing emigrated in here from other
counties which were not so favorably
blessed with crops as Brown County
has been.
It is claimed that Jack Rabbits may
be easily colonized by making a chick
ea or dog proof pen that the may
crawl under and baiting it for a
weok or two with sweet potatoes and
then putting poison in the potatoes
one farmer in another county killed
thirty in one night in this way.
Arfother way to safeguard against
rabbits Is to mano a solution of waf
er and kress dip and sprinkling the
plants with them and that rabbits will
not bother plants that havo a smell
of carbolic acid though -this would
likely have to bo repeated with each
rain until ins plants are large Th

county It is therefore decided by the
court to offer and pay a premium of
5 cents for oach jack rabbit killed in
Brown county 'from this date until
the July term of this court which

which may be used to advantage by
almost every business man general

The most successful advertising
