fectly' blind since infancy. When
she first applied for the position
she was told that it would be
quite impossible for her to man-
age the immense keyboard with
out seeing it as no other blind
person had ever been employed
in . the telephone service. She
persisted and was finally given a
chance. She learned every number-
on her keyboard so well
that in a recent competition held
in Virginia City to determine
the most efficient operator she
beat all competitors.

W. P. Harrell of Eastman Ga.
was shot and instantly killed by
Mrs. Sallie Freeney who was
arrested. The killing grew out
of a dispute about past due
rent Mr. Harrell owning the
house in which Mrs. Freeney
lived. He had gone to her house
to collect rent due and upon be-
ing refused payment told Mrs.
Freeney she would have to move.
She drew a pistol and fired two
bullets one through his heart
and the other into his left eye. j

has purchased the Majestic from
Harrison & Harryman at Lam-
pasas and is there now conduct-
ing the show. Mr. Harrison
came home last night and Rex
Harryman will come in tonight.
The Majestic has been establish-
ed at Lampasas about three
weeks.
