it is a matter ofjconjecture as to
who will win as the efforts of the
boys could easily change the
order of votes.
We want every boy in the race
to feel that he has been helped
along as much" as possible.
There are no special favored
ones. Those who have been the
most energetic are the ones who
have the most . votes and those
who have not been active have
hno kick coming. But two days
remain and .these two days will
be the most exciting and impor-
tant. The most should be made
of this limited time before it is
too late.

EXECUTIVE BODY ENLARGED
Membership of That Committee Increas-
ed to Fifteen and 'a Finance
Committee Appointed.
The Brownwood Fifty Thous-
and Club metatthe city hall yes-
terday afternoon and had a most
interesting meeting. Much that
was done and said there was for-
bidden publication in the news-
papers. The action in regard "to
the railroads which Brownwood
is attempting to secure will not
be published. The lack of inter-
est of some of Brownwood busi-
ness men was discussed and a
committee appointed to inter
view the entire business inter
ests of the city and see if they
desired the Club to remain in
active operation and if so to sup-
port it.
B. E. Hurlbut manager of the
Fall Fair reported that arrange-
ments were progressing satisfac-
torily and that he wanted a cash
guarantee of $2500 with which
to finance the fair. He stated
that the fund'would be solicited
on the same basis that the carni-
val fund has always been obtain
ed that there was a deficit at the
close of the event the subscribers
to the fund would pay their pro-
rata share of the loss. - He also
stated that he was calling the
general committee to meet next
Monday.
Brooke Smith made the report
of the committee who were sent
to Dublin to confer with Waco
and Hamilton concerning rail-

ly interesting is withheld from
publication at the request of the
Club. He stated however that
the road would be built.
The committee who went to"
Dublin spoke in the' highest
terms of the treatment accorded
them at the hands of the Dublin
business men and a vote of
thanks "was extended to Dublin
for her courtesy and generosity.
It was decided to call a rail-
road mass meeting for next Tues-
day afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at
the court house at which time
important matters are to be con-
sidered. The executive committee of
the club which has heretofore
consisted of seven members was
increased to fifteen the new
members to be appointed by the
president. The railroad com-
mittee of six was increased to
seven. A finance committee
consisting of five- members was
also provided for. An entertain-

C. H. Jenkins addressed the
meeting in regard to the big re-
union which is to be held here
in August and stated that there
would probably be ten thousand
people here and that the club
should give all encouragement
and aid possible to make the
event a success. At his sugges-
tion a committee of five were ap-
pointed to co-operate with the
city council and the veterans is
securing a driveway from town
to the new park donated by the
city. It is proposed to construct
a broad driveway and pave it
with crushed rock and this will
afford much pleasure to the citi-
zens and visitors.
The matter of securing ample
funds with which to carry on
the work of the Fifty Thousand
Club was thoroughly discussed
and it was deemed necessary that
the finance committee get the
business men to subscribe
