at the FFA Annual Pro-
ject show who he was
going to vote for for

Tax Preparer
The District Director of
the North Texas IRS Dis-
trict, with the support of
the Presidents of the Dal-
las and Fort Worth-Tar-
rant County Bar Associa-
tions and the Presidents
of the Dallas and Fort
Worth Chapters of the
Texas Society of Certi-
fied Accountants, has is-
sued advice on how to
select a competent tax
preparer.-
Ellis Campbell, Jr., Dis-
trict Director, stated that
although about half of 75
tax preparers contacted
during a recent IRS sur-
vey did not prepare cor-
rect returns, that Inter-
nal Revenue Service In no
way wants to reflect on
the honesty or the com-
petence of an estimated
9,000 tax practitioners In
the 143 counties in the
Dallas District.
Internal Revenue Service
over the years has re-
ceived cooperation and
support in the adminis-
tration of tax laws from
the Tax Attorneys, CPA's,
Public Accountants, and
many other long estab-
lished Tax Practitioners.
However, there are
as shown by the IRS 's
survey - - - too many
unscrupulous type ope-
rators that do cause trou-
ble for the taxpayers.
Mr. Campbell was joined
by Henry Schlinger,
resident of the Dallas
ar Association: Beale
Dean, president of the Ft.
Worth - Tarrant County
Bar Association, and
Oscar Reeder, president
of the Ft. Worth Chap-
ter of Texas Society of
Certified Public Accoun-
tants in offering these
guidelines to taxpayers in
selecting competent and
honest tax practioners:
1. Avoid the adviser who
"guarantees" a refund,
wants a percentage of the
refund, or supposedly
knows all the angles.
Anyone attending the FFA
Project Show In Wylie on
Saturday, April 8th, is
sure to know the entire
day's activities were a
wholloplng success.
From the word go,about
5:30 a.m., the keywords
were cooperation and
harmony. This was true
all the way through.

4. Do not sign a tax re-

(It can be changed later)
5. A professional advisor

FFA Department
Says "Thani
You"
The members of the FFA
Department and thier ad-
visor, Mr. Hume, wish to
thank everyone who made
this year's protect show
such a wonderful success.
There just aren't words
enough to express their
S-atltude. This was Indeed
e biggest and best show
Wylie has ever had. We
of the Ag department want
to say Thank You to the
Fire Department, Saddle
Club, Wylie Pharmacy,
Wylie Butane, Wylie
School Cafeteria and many
others.
Especially do we want
to thank Mr. Joe Parr for
his services as 'auc-
tioneer' at the auction.
Everyone in attendance,
especially those who have
attended sales In the past,
agree that having an auc-
tioneer made a great dif-
ference. Mr. Parr did an
excellent job for the boys
and he Is greatly appreci-
ated. Also we d like to
thank John Erickson an
Mike Skinner who assisted
In the auction ring as ring-
men.
Last but not least we
want to thank everyone
who ate lunch with us and
those wonderful fathers
and mothers who pre-
pared and served the food.
Without all of you we could
not have had the turnout
that made our FFA Annual
Project Show For 1972
such a big success .
