GISD Bond Study Group
$110 Million Package
The Bond Study Committee
of the Garland ISD Building
Committee has approved a
package totaling $110 million.
The bulk of the package is
to construct new schools and
renovate older schools to
accommodate student popu-
lation growth.
A significant component of
the package is upgrading the
instructional computer system
and the administrative/man-
agement computer system.
The Study Committee also
recommended that one new
school be built to replace Bul-
lock and Bradfield Elementary
Schools, each of which is
about 25 years old and in
need of major renovation.
The Committee says it will
cost less to build a new
campus than to renovate the
two old campuses.
September) will earn a six-
foot tree. The basket and tree
are donated by Custom
Green, Inc., a Sachse-based
landscaping company.
Judging of the yards by
non-Sachse experts in land-
scaping and gardening is
based on overall landscaping
impact/design, color variation
(utilizing plants, shrubbery
and/or floral treatments),
grass vitality and texture, and
ornamental decorations, such
as statues and rock gardens.
School Taxes
To Increase for GISD

over the 1991 tax base, the
taxable property value fell
over $55 million, due to a
higher number of disputed
property valuations.
A meeting has been sej^
for Thursday, Aug. 27 iA
the Administration Build-
ing, to adopt the 1992-93
budget.
The tax rate will be set at
a meeting on Sept. 3.
