Hwy. 78 Construction
Plans, Bids Discussed
Approval of construction
plans and bid documents for
the relocation of utility lines
on Highway 78 dominated ac-
tion of the Sachse City
Council's regular meeting,
Jan. 18.
"All utility lines must be re-
located before the Highway
78 widening project begins in
late 1993. So, we reviewed
the plans and bid documents
to relocate the lines with City
Engineer Travis Roberts,"
said Mayor Pro-Tern Jim
Becker, who chaired the
meeting.
The Council approved
construction plans, contingent
on Texas Dept. of Transpor-
tation review and approval.
Bids for the relocation project
should be awarded at the
Council's first meeting in
March.
In other action, the Council:
--Approved a resolution for
tax roll supplement changes
for November 1992.
--Tabled action on appoint-
ing a Sachse representative
to the Dallas County Health
Advisory Board.
--Approved exemption of
certain police vehicles from
regular markings.
--Tabled action on adopting
the FY1991-92 Audit Report.
Immediately following the
regular meeting, the Council
met in executive session to
discuss performance evalua-
tions for the City Manager
and City Secretary.

Rowlett, and Garland. A Garland resident since 1955, Driver
asks for input from residents of District 113 and promises to
"personally read every letter that comes my way." The first
order of business is passage of a school finance plan that will
meet state court approval. "I'll be working with the Garland
ISD, as well as my fellow legislators, to help develop a plan
that will be fair to GISD students and taxpayers, while at the
same time being good public policy for the entire state,"
Driver said.
