Murphy American Cotton
Museum in Greenville.
The event is an egg hunt that

restaurant gift cards to Texas
Motor Speedway Nascar tickets,
admission to Dallas and Fort
Worth museums and cash.
Tickets are $8 in advance and
$10 the day of the event.

Show Saturday from noon to 4

The show is open to the pub-

The annual Taste of Wylie
benefiting the Community
Christian Care Center is set for
11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 18 at
the FBC Wylie Events Center,
200 N. Ballard Ave.
' Cost is $10 for advance tick-
ets and $12 at the door. Seniors
and children 6 to 18 are $8.
Children 5 and under are free.
The event includes sampling
from many of the area's restau-
rants and food businesses and
live and silent auctions.

Easter egg hunt
There will be a day of cele-
bration, including an Easter
egg hunt, at In-Sync Exotics,
3430 Skyview Dr., April 23.
The events will go on rain or
shine and will include a visit
from a live Easter bunny, cot-
ton candy, games, prizes, face-
painting, races, raffles, food, a
DJ and bounce house.
Festivities begin at 10:30
a.m. One egg hunt starts at
noon, and another starts at 2
p.m.
Admission is $12 for adults
and $10 for children ages 3
to 9.

and Scripture" at 6:30 p.m.
each Thursday through' April

So far, everyone has ladled
on praise for the homemade
soups that have been served
including butternut squash
with Italian sausage soup,

homemade croutons and tor-
tilla soup, organizers of the
event said.
The evening includes a light
supper and a message from the

Public meeting to focus
on ISD budget, funding
The PTA Council of Wylie
ISD is sponsoring a budget
information meeting at 6:30
p.m. April 12 in the auditorium

Legislature is considering and

Hartman students
collecting stuffed animals
The Hartman Elementary
Student Council is collecting
new and gently used stuffed ani-
mals for SAFE (Stuffed Animals
for Emergencies).
The students are holding a
communitywide stuffed animal
drive through April 8.
Donations can be left at the
school located at 512 S.
Birmingham St.
"The stuffed animals don't
have to be new, but they must be
clean and free from stains or
tears," said teacher Sarah
Carpenter.
Donated animals will be re-
distributed by police, tire and
rescue, ambulance services,
children's services, hospitals, air
ambulances and other emer-
gency organizations.
Spring flower sale
helping senior class
The Wylie High School Class
of 2011 is selling spring flowers
to raise funds for senior events.

Citizens Police Academy
grads selling flowers
The Wylie Citizens Police
Academy Alumni Association
has begun its spring flower
fundraiser.
The pre-order price is $17 per
flat and includes 18 four-inch
pots of prime planting material.
Hanging plants and Hibiscus are
$10 each. Flowers are from local
growers.
Orders will be taken until
April 9 with flowers delivered
between 9 and 10:30 a.m. April
16 at First Baptist Church Wylie
front parking lot.

Christian Care benefit
April 16, the residents of the
Sage Creek subdivision will
have a 1-mile walk, 5K run and
neighborhood party benefiting
the Community Christian Care
Center.
Events begin with the walk at
8 a.m. at the Sage Creek Pool,
800 Springwell Pkwy.
Admission is a donation of
canned food.
The 5K run will begin at 8:30
a.m. Registration fee is $10
plus a donation of canned food.
(After April 12, registration
increases to $15.)
The run is an USATF-certi-
fied course ant1 will be profes-
sionally timed using disposable
chips.
Mayor Eric Hogue will pres-
ent awards at 9:15 a.m.
The "After Party" will be
from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and
will include music, bounce
houses, a pancake breakfast, ice
