Robert James Maxwell
A memorial service for
Robert James Maxwell, 79, of
Wylie will be held Oct. 17,
2010, at the Charles W. Smith
& Sons Chapel in Sachse.
Mr. Maxwell died Oct. 8 in
Wylie.
He was born Jan. 8, 1931, in
Philadelphia, Pa. to the late
Raymond Austin Maxwell Sr.
and Marguerite Percy
Maxwell. He served in the
United States Air Force and
was stationed in the DFW area,
where he made his home for
the majority of his life.
Survivors incude his wife of
37 years, Sandra Maxwell; sis-
ter, Sally Snidow of Leesburg,
Va.; daughters, Denise Mallou
and her husband Fernando of
Rockwall and Reana Estridge
and her husband Felix of
Wylie; son, Lynn Robinson and
his wife Paula of Tavares, Fla.;
seven grandchildren, Abby
Maxwell, Alex Maxwell, Cory
and Sarah Mizell, Brayden
Estridge, Christopher Mallou
and Shaun Robinson; sister-in-
law, Barbara Vanderslice of
Sonora, Calif.; brother-in-law,
Don Snidow of Virginia.; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Raymond Austin
Maxwell Sr. and Marguerite
Percy Maxwell; son. Warren
Scott Maxwell; and brothers,
Raymond Austin Maxwell Jr.
and Willliam Damerell.
George Dotson Neel
George Dotson Neel of Dallas died Sept. 26,
2010.
He was born Aug. 18,1934, in Dallas, and he
soon moved to Wylie where he spent his child-
hood.
Mr. Neel was a veteran of the Korean War and
attended the University of North Texas (former-
ly known as North Texas State University).
After 30 years of service, Mr. Neel retired
from MKT Railroad to spend time with his wife,
Diane. His family members said he enjoyed
reading, history, music and walking in his
neighborhood.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Diane
Neel of Dallas; daughter, Sylvia Walker and her
husband Ron of La Porte; brother, Billy Russell
and his wife Valerie of Irving; sister, Margaret
Dill of Oklahoma City, Okla; nieces, Renee
Press of Piano and Dorlinda Dill of Oklahoma
City, Okla; great-nephews and great-niece,
Justin Cross, Kody Shipley and Kaetlin Martin.
No formal services will be held.
lyier James Wyatt
Tyler James Wyatt was born and died Sept. 28.
"He was much wanted and deeply loved," his
parents said.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Jeff and
Susan (Slayton) Wyatt of Anna; two big sisters,
Madison and Hailey Wyatt of Anna; grandpar-
ents, James and Brenda Slayton of Wylie and
Tommy Wyatt of Princeton; and great-grandfa-
ther Daniel Rushing of Wylie.
He is also survived by numerous other loving
family members.
He was preceded in death by his great-grand-
mother Greta S. Rushing and grandmother Betty
H. Wyatt.
Obituary deadline for the current week's issue
is noon Tuesday.
'For All Seasons'
Garland Symphony Orchestra opens Oct. 22
The Garland Symphony
Orchestra opens its 2010-* 11 sea-
son, "A Symphony for All
Seasons!" at 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at the
Granville Arts Center.
Now in its third decade, the sym-
phony's October and November
subscription programs will feature
Grieg's "In Autumn," Piazzolla's
"Buenos Aires Autumn," and
Beethoven's "Triple Concerto for
Violin, Cello and Piano." The
January and February concerts will
offer Tchaikovsky's "Winter
Dreams" Symphony, and a suite
from Rimsky-Korsakov's opera
"The Snow Maiden."
Schumann's "Spring
Symphony," Sibelius' "Spring
Song," and Johann Strauss II's
"Voices of Spring" will be heard in
February and March. And, in April
and May, the GSO audience will be
treated to Debussy's "Rondes de
printemps. No. 3," Camilo's
"Concerto for Piano, Harp, and
Strings," Berg's "Im
Sommerwind," and Swedish com-
poser Hugo Alfven's
"Midsommarvaka."
The season will conclude with
Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of
Spring."
Along the way, the orchestra will
also play selections from the many
composers who have written music
for all four seasons.
