Hinckley said during the
Christmas season church members
collect clothes for a mission in the
Texas Valley while escalating their
ongoing support for the local food
pantry and the Wylie Christian Care
Center.
"As well as promoting those won-
derful organizations, sponsoring the
luncheon allows me to talk about our
Christmas Eve Service of Carols and
Candlelight," Hinckley said.
"All of these activities are impor-
tant to me as a pastor, and the busi-
ness community needs to be aware of
what is going on in this segment of
our lives."
The church will be accepting new
or used clothing until Dec.I().
Hinckley encourages everyone to
donate food to the Wylie Christian
Care Center.
Center officials said they particu-
larly need canned meats, powdered
milk, peanut butter and cereals.
"Our Christmas Eve Service,
which has become our most attended
service of the year, will be celebrated
at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 24." Hinckley said.
"The family service includes
singing of old familiar Christmas
Carols and culminates with Silent
Niglil sung by Candlelight.
"Ii is casual, so people can come
with their families and just feel at
home on this special day."
In addition to that service, the
Sachse Christian Church will be pre-
senting special music each Sunday
during Advent.
The church constructed its first
building in 1907 and is celebrating its
Centennial Year.
