Christie's 'Verdict'
takes Garland stage
Garland Civic Theatre will
complete its 43id season with a
production of "Verdict" by
Agatha Christie.
Kyle McClaran, the theater's
artistic director, is directing this
story of the Hendryks.
TTie production will run
Friday through Sunday, April 22
through May 14, with Thursday
performances April 21 and 28 at
the Granville Arts Center, 300 N.

screened at city parks
The city of Murphy will pres-
ent Moonlight Movies at city
parks beginning April 29.
The first offering will be
"Secretariat" at Mustang Park,
602 Mustang Ridge Dr., starting
at dusk, around 8:30 p.m.
Attendees should bring a
lawn chair or blanket for seating
and, of course, movie snacks!
Moonlight Movies is present-
ed by the Murphy Parks and
Recreation Department and the
Murphy Community
Development Corporation.

The annual Boggess Bike and
Family Fitness Rodeo, geared
toward improving your child's
cycling skills through drills

Rock opera 'Bat Boy'
playing at Art Centre

The rock opera is directed
by Peg Waldschmidt.
The musical tells the story
of a half-bat, half-boy found in
a cave in HopeFalls, W.V., by
the three Taylor children. The
Bat Boy bites one of them and
is taken to the town veterinari-
an, Dr. Parker, whose wife
adopts Bat Boy much like a
stray and names him Edgar.
Due to content, theater offi-
cials said this is an adult-only
show.
Tickets are $12 in advance
and $15 at the door.
Wednesday and Thursday per-
formances are half price.

Egg hunt planned
at old POW Camp park
The city of Princeton will
hold its second annual Easter
egg hunt at 11 a.m. April 23 at
Princeton Community
Park/POW Camp.
The event is free.
Other activities will include
face painting by the First
Christian Church and a perform-
ance by the Fellowship Point
Band.
The event is sponsored by the
city of Princeton, the Princeton
Police Department, Legacy
Church, Fellowship Pointe, First
Christian Church and the Lois

FFA hosting fundraiser at
Oak Hollow Golf Course
The Princeton FFA golf
scramble tournament will begin
at 8 a.m. June 13 with a shotgun
start at Oak Hollow Golf Course
in McKinney.
The fundraiser is limited to
36 four-player teams.
Entry fee is $70 per player
and includes the green fee, cart
fee, range balls and one future
round of golf.

Festival to celebrate
aromatic vegetable
The annual Princeton Onion
Festival will be April 30 at
Princeton High School and
includes such activities as a 5K,
cookoff, football and tennis
tournaments, game booths, raf-
fle, craft show, auction, food
and a pageant.
In conjunction with the festi-
val, the Princeton Police
Department is sponsoring the
third annual "Onion Bowl" foot-
ball tournament. Register a team

a percentage of Chick-fil-A's

Wylie Acting Group For
Children, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization.

will be a box with a WAG flier
attached. Supporters are asked
to drop- receipts into the box,
and WAG will receive 15 per-
cent of the total spent.
