One of the most versatile sister
combination.1; in Cloutie High H gh
School will be broken up by the
annual commencement exercises.
Nelda Hundley, 18. was one of
20 graduates. Her sister, Donna,
10, now Is a sophomore.
Nelda and Donna, daughters o'
Mr. and Mrs. Jess Hundley, have
made bettei than average grades
a'.id also l ave followed identical
paths in both sports and club ac-
tivitie.
Nelda, as a guard, and Donna,
a forward, led their schools bas-
ketball team to distrffct and bi-
district titles. The girls' quintet
won 21 and lost 13 last winter
and won first, second and third
places in tournament competition.
"Both girls have wonderful a-
bility," says Coach F. G. Crofford,
"and I'll sure miss that wonder-
ful balK handling of Nelda and
Donna No one had more com-
petitive spirit than those two did.
They were always fighting hard,
whether the team was ahead or
behind 50 points."
Coach Crofford wil not have to
wait long before he'll have a sim-
iliar Hundley combination. Nancy
Hundley, 13, will enter eighth
grade next fall. She also is an ex-
cellent basketball player and may
possibley play on the same team
with Donna, whf-n her sister is a
senir.
Besides maintaining a B aver-
age, Nelda and Donna are mem-
ben of the Choral club, FHA,
Pep Squad and high school annua)
senior.
Nelda was chosen freshman
class favorite and was an attend-
ant at the crowning of the bas-
ketball queen this year. She found
time as a junior to serve as cheer
leader, and she helped out as a
typist in the high school admin-
istration office during her senior
year.
"I have known both girls for
two years," said John D. Damron,
school superintendent. "They've
been two of the most efficient
students I've seen here and they
are eager to enter more activities
every chance they get. I attribute
much of their success to their
parents, who always attend every
school function."
Nelda has hopes of an airline
stewardess vocation and the pret-
ty, intelligent, brunette should
make a good one. She has plans
for college first, however.
"I like to travel and think it
would be an interesting job,"
Nelda says.
Has Donna any vocation ideas
now?
'Nope, I have two years of
school left here and that's the big
thing on my mind right now,"
said Donna, flashing a wide smile
Nelda worked as a waitress last
summer, but she plans to leave
that job to Donna during 1958
summer months.
Dr. Joseph Ray, president of
Amarillo College, delivered the

ment program.
