Several Farms Changed Hands the Past Two
Months...Outsiders See Something Good in
Lipscomb County Farm Lands.
During the past year people
have been setting up and taking
notice of Lipscomb county's pro-
ductive soil. People from the
outside have been coming in and
glancing over the prolific produc-
tion of grain* crops throughout
the county, have seen the mons^
trous fields of katlr, the maZe,
the picturesque her*is of cattle
feeding upon the native grassess
which are so abundant in this
country. It has awakened a
spirit of wanting to camp within
the folds of such apparent pros-
perity. Through this cause
m*£y farms have changed hands
this season, more so than in
years prior. And a great deal of
the raw or pasture land has been
nabbed on to for the purpose of
breaking aud patting intb
agricultural use.

From week to week some
rancher sells out to rebuy a larg-
er trjct and thus it is that Lips-
comb county is becoming a live
member in the land market, and
why shouldn't it. The county
as a whole is a prolific accumula
tion of aggre8siveness from one
end to the other in some varied
pursuit. Either direction one
looks there . is^ a fine ranch, a
good and substantial country
home. Everyone in t h|e rural
districts ekher busy in looking
after a well fed herd of porkers
or white face steers, gathering in
theialfafa, taking the wheat to
market or hauling lumber out
for the new barn or country
home that will go up this fall.
Activity spells much in the way
of advancement in the centraliz-
ation of a greater population in
the county o f Lipscomb. It
looks more than good to the new
comer or the one passing througti
f^om the other states of high
priced lands Even the renter of
the eastern farm can do a greater
good for himself in Lipscomb
county which has been proven in
more cases than one and in but
few years at tain that seat among
the well-to do's by owning his
farm and at the 8 ame time dis-
pense with the acre rental.
The past year has made radi-
cal changes in the land holdings
of our progressive county. It
leaves room for the imagination
of the dreamer as to what the
future of such a vast amount of
nature's wealth might mean to
the diligent, honest, hard working
tiller of the soil who grasps an
opportunity when prsented. The
time is drifting by when se\en,
ten and twelve dollar land will be
a thing of the past and the one
who holds a hundred and sixty or
half section will be counted on
Easy Street.

SANDERS RANCH
SELLS FOR (21,000
S. N. Weinett, Old Time
Resident of the County
Fo rtunate Buyer.
Yesterday afternoon oocuted 1
another land sale, this time it
happened to be an old resident of
the county that realizes the value
of Lipscomb county soil. Mr.
Shirley Weinett, counted among
the progressive class of ratal cit-^
izens in this end of the county
turns over $21,000 for this choice
ranch which is situated about
Eighteen miles northwest of here
on the Grlalou. It is a fine three
section ranch taking in 1,920
acres all told, and is as pretty a
sight for a country home as there
is in the county. The country
residence was built by Chas.
Sanders, now of Douglas,
Arizona, and at its time of erec-
tion was among the most modern
in arrangement and conveniences.
As time has went on other addi-
tional improvements have been
added t o t^his commodious
place of comfort. Mr. Weinett
is to be congratulated upon his
good luck of securing this fire
ranch at the opportune time,
while there are others that are as
good there are none better in the
county everything took into con-
sideration. The deal was con-
sumated through T. A. Lemaster
& Co., of this place.
