insomnia all down the block!
Frtlks Dually <}r<>|>|ic<l a hint to,

From where I .sit, good neitfhbor-
liness means nothing more than
simply respecting the other per-
son's tastes and rights — without
forcing your own tastes or opinions
down his throat. And that goes for
Hud's radio, my glass id' beer, or
whatever temperate pleasure you
happen to enjoy.

It's Super Quality and I'm Proud as a
New Papa of Phillips 66 Premium Motor Oil I
Boy-oh-boy, here's something to point to with pridal
Because "Lubri-tection" means lubrication plus pro-
tection ... it means the kind of a job you get from ■
fine motor oil, expertly refined with varnish and sludge-
retarding additives as added protection! Yes, this
Phillips 66 Premium is a motor oil that actually help*
your engine!
Phillips 66 Premium Motor Oil is a really good
lubricant with extra additives and inhibitors to help
prevent the formation of sludge and varnish. So re-
member the name "Lubri-tection"! It's the word that
means Phillips 66 Premium Motor Oil . . . the word
thA means lubrication plus engine protection!

SILENT GUEST DRIVE
CONTINUES UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Miss Iris Oabrlel, founder and
director of the "American Silent
Guest Plan," which Is new in
progress in Texas to benefit hun-
gry children, has informed Gov-
ernor Beauford H. Jester she
will visit Austin on December 14.
Ml&s Gabriel will bring a me-
dal to present to Governor Jester,
sent by the mayor of Vienna in
recognition of th^s State's help in
the Silent Guest program last
year. The medal will be the Vien-
nese children's way of saying
"thank you" for the food they re-
ceived
A similar campaign was launch-
ed again this year, on Thanksgiv-
ing Day. The Silent Guest drive,
which will last until Christmas,
has a goal of $1,000,000 to be given
to the non-profit United Nations
Appeal for Children to help 230,- j
000,000 undernourished and sick
children throughout the world.
The plan asks that Texans set I
an extra plate at their tables du-
! ring the holiday season, from now
until Christmas, to entertain, a
Silent Guest--a hungry child who'
I needs our help.
Then, the price of that meal,
iot as long a period as the indi-
vidual Texan can afford, may be
sent by check oti money, order to
tlie Silent Guest Committee, in
care of the Governor's Office, Au-
stin .
The UNICEF .*111 distribute 75
per cent of the collections abroad,
while 25 per cent will be kept in
America to help bur own needy
children. Distribution will be en-
tirely on the basis of need, with
no discrimination against any
group of hungry children. The
relief organization is supported,
financially, by the United Nations,
so all collections will be used to
buy food.
I EVERY SCHOOL SHOULD
HAVE A HEALTH PROGRAM
AUSTIN, TEXAS,—Every school
has tremendous opportunities to
promote the health of its pupils
and its community, and this re- j
ason Dr. Geo. W. Cox, State
Health Officer, says that every
school should have a definite he-
alth program including safe drink-
ing water, good school lunches,
proper lighting, seating and ven-
tilating facilities as well as scru-
pulously clean premises.
"From early childhood to man-
hood and womanhood, most youn-
gsters are enrolled in school and
under the supervision of school
staffs for a substantial part of
the day, approximately half the
days of the year," Dr. Cox said.
"The conditions under which they
live in school, the help which they
are given in solving their health
problems, the ideals of individual
and community health which they
are taught, and the information
and understanding that they ac-
quire are factors which operate
to develop attitudes and behav-
ior conductive to happy, healthy
and successful living."
To supplement the efforts of
teachers, school tyoards, parents
and civic groups ' Interested in
promoting school health, the State
Health Department's Division of
School Health 1 Services carries on
a full time program designed to
promote and develop a sound basic
health program for the school
child. This plan consists of at-
tempting the control of communi-
cables diseases In cooperation with
local health departments; the mi-
nimizing of hearing, vision, dental
and other similar problems; pro-
viding minimum gealth essentials
In classroom environment such as
lighting,; seating, and so forth, an
adequate physical activity pro-
gram; stressing education on per-
sonal hygiene and local health
hazards, nutrition supervision and
instruction; and integrating the
school health "program with the
total community health program.
