wood filled hii pulpit at Bethel
Baptilt church Sunday. The at-
tendance was good; two accessions.
Sunday School waa held at all
churches and there were lively dis-
cussions on the subject of Tem-

the young people ware invited to
Stockdale Saturday evening to a
school program—a swell affair.
Mr. W. E. Harria jnade a "whirl
wind" visit to the Alamo City the
early part of last week. He is our

Miss Angie Johns was on the sick
list last week; also Mrs. Nancy
Edwards and Mrs. Ada Kuyken-

Prospect Baptist Church of which
Rev. H. Baron is pastor, held won-
derful services Sunday. Tuesday
night, Marrh 14, Mr. P. A. Hill o?
Austin, grand master of the A. F.
and A. M. of Texas, was the guest
of the local lodge. After the lec-
ture, the Craftamen and Stari
served him with refreshments." At
11 a. m. the pastor preached a
wonderful sermon and at 3:30 p. m.
an able sermon was preached by
Rev. Boston of Kenedy. Deacon and
Mrs. J. S. Graham, Mrs. D. L. Mur-
ry, Mrs. M. S. Washington, Mrs. A.
M. King and others from Runge;
also Deacon and Mrs. I. E. Austin,
of Houston, were visitors. Deacon
Auston and Deacon Graham spoke
Sunday night. Pastor Bacon came
before us with an able sermon. Vis-
itors in the night service were Dea.
con and Mrs. P. A. Graham of Ken-
edy.
Miss M. N. Nobla and her school
and Rev. Bacon, Mrs. L. Johnson
and others, motored to Kenedy laat

Mrs. A. Brown ia better and was
able to be at church Sunday.

Guard Is ready for their trip* and
are willing to appear on exhibition
anywhere. Visitors in the city this
week were; Dr. F. Rivers Barnwell
of Austin as the guest of Kelly Mil-
ler Reed; Messrs Thompson, Dyer,
Jones and Thornton of Dallas were
here on business, also Mr. Simmons
of Abilene.

and Baptist Churches was fine. At
the Methodist Church, Rev. W. C.
Willis delivered wonderful sermons
morning and night. B. Y. P. U.
met at S:30 with Group No. 1 in
charge of the program. Epworth
League met at 8 o'clock with Clar-
ence Vaughn in charge.
Mr. and Mrs. Banks White and
daughter, sister and niece of Uval-
de were visitors here Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Grant motored
to Crystal City Sunday to visit
their friend, Mr. Willie Reaves.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Temple of San
Antonio were here visiting Mr. and
Mrs. L. R. Edmerson Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Reeves and
Mrs. Eulmore were visiting in Crys-
tal City Sunday.
Mr. Leo Knowles and Walter
Bennett have returned home from
a short stay in Uvalde.

public school are putting over an
intereating program. Merchants of
the city to pupils who are soccers-
ful contestants in the different
phases of health work. Dr. W. A.
Allen is giving ons hour a day to
clinical work and parents ara being
advised of the defects in their chil-
dren.
The District Interscholastlc meet
including Milam, Lee and Burleson
counties were held in Rockdale Fri-
day and were the largest in the
history of the organisation. Milam
County won the meet by a large
margin and will send 30 successful
contestants to Prairie View. Rock-
dale will send 12. The outstanding
contestants of Aycock Hi school
were Vernlce McKee, whq scored
100 in junior spelling and Allie Mae
Bacy who scored 420 points in
Arithmetic in fifteen minutes. A
revival at New Hope Baptist
Church is now in progress.

The ten night revival at Mt. Cal-

Matthew Baptist Church met Sun-
day evening at 3 p.m., president
Booker in charge. After the regu-
lar order of busineaa an enjoyable
program was rendered by the men.

At Mt. Bethel, 11 o'clock serv-
ices, pastor Jas. Jordan took (or
his subject "Prepare Ye The Way,"
which was a masterpiece. At 3:00
o'clock a gr at mass meeting was
held and an excellent program ren-
dered, Mr. Bethel Jr. M. E. church
choirs and Rev. Bagneria with the
"Martin Four" rendered lovely mu-
