Calls For
Help—Millions are Suffering
and Dying
Millions of Chinese civilians are
suffering and dying. They are
starving and freezing and perish-
ing for want of medical care.
President Roosevelt has sugges-
ted that the Red Cross raise a
milllion dollars for relief purposes
in China, and the Red Cross has
assumed responsibility for receiv-
ing and forwarding the funds re-
ceived for such purpose.
The Lipscomb County Chapter
invites your contributes. If we
act quickly we can save the lives
of thousands of Chinese women
and children.
It is hoped that our people will
be relatively as liberal at this
time and in this emergency as
they were during the floods of
last year.
Pay your dollars to Mrs. Otis
Brawn of Lipscomb, Mrs. A.
Hissantz of Higgins, Mrs. Ed.
Lehman of Booker, Mrs. A. H.
Montgomery of Darrouzett, or to
Mrs. Herman Laubhan of Follett.
All funds received will be promtly
forwarded to Red Cross head-
quarters and thence lmmedately
to the proper agencies in China.
The local people receiving the
money will please transmit it to
Mrs. Montgomery oif Darrouzett,
treasurer of the chapter.

SCHOOL NEWS
W:; are learning several "Ind-
ian Songs" together with our Ind-
ian Unit in Reading. Perhaps we
will learn the "Why's" and
"How's" of many of their Indian
Dances. We think it would be fun
to dress as they do around a
camp fire and sing "Red Wing",
"Snowdear" and "My Pretty
Rainbow." Anyway, thats what we
plan to do.
Fourth grade Language classes
are learning the uses of LIE, LAY,
SIT and SET. We find it's a little
hard to use these words correctly,
but we know that "practice
makes perfect."
Our "Good Citizenship Records"
are looking better on the charts!
We're glad of that!—Primary
Room.
Both girls and boys basketball
teams attended the Canadian

The girls basketball team had
their pictures made while at the
Tournament.
The Lipscomb teams will play
the Darrouzett teams here, Feb. 1,
1938.
The teams will play Higgins
there Friday Feb. 4, 1938.
