home of Mrs. F. J. Davenport.
Mrs. Shoemaker will dem-
onstrate and discuss all basic
designs in flower arrange-
ments.

A bridal shower honoring
Mrs. James Thomas Hart was
held Saturday night at the
home of Mrs. Lee Ansley.
Hostesses were Mrs. Isaac

Carter, Mrs. J. P. Vissering,
Mrs. Ray Beggs, Mrs. Law-

The dining table was laid
with a white net table cloth
over taffeta with a beautiful
arrangement of white and
pink roses and a miniature
bride and bridegroom.
Mrs. Glenda Scarborough
presided at the punch bowl
and Miss Claudette Carter
served cake squares. Miss
Carolyn Ansley presided at
the bride's book.
Mr. and Mrs. Hart received
many beautiful and useful
gifts for the home.

A child and a pet can become attached to each other — even
if the pet is as ugly as a horned toad. Kathy Morgan, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Morgan of Marietta, wears on her
nose the horned toad she and her sister, Becky, found last
week near Tyler. The youngsters usually keep the pet in a
jar with holes in the top and a bed of grass and straw.

Graveside services for the
infant son of Mr. and Mrs.
E. B. Wommack were held at
the Dalton Cemetery at 4 p.m.
Tuesday. The baby was born on
Okinawa and lived only a few
hours. His body was returned
here for burial. The father is
in the armed services and has
been stationed on Okinawa for
several years. He arrived here
lest week by plane to await
the arrival of his son and to
attend the funeral services.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wom-
mack are the paternal grand-
parents of the infant.
William Simmons was in
Dallas over the week end vis-
iting with relatives.
Junior Goolsby returned to
his home at Ft. Worth over
the week end after spending
the summer with his grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus
Robinson.

solved by County Attor-
ney Bill Bourke, who ad-
vised the city officials
that Davis and Carlisle
had a right to inspect the
tax records.
