mentary work at Brackenridge,
then a member of the first eighth
grade class to enroll at the open-
ing of Douglass High School. Grad-
uating frorfi the Anderson High
School of Austin, entering Wilber-
force University, Ohio, graduating
from the College of Liberal Arts
and Sciences in three yeara. She has
studied at the universities of Chi-
cago, Michigan, at Ann Arbor,
Mich. California at Berkely, having
only ona remaining quarter to
Wm^iete on her Master's Degree
at the latter institution.
She has been in attendance at
each Boule of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority for the past seven
years, therefore she spends the first
Christmas with mother and dad in
The Original Queen of Heart,
held ita fifth annual formal dance
Wednesday evening, December 28,
at tha Cotton Club. As the bidden
guests entered the beautifully dec-
orated ballroom, they were grac-
iously received by the smiling
faces of the every Rosebuds. At 11
p. m. the "Hearts" made their ap-
pearance on the fittingly arranged
stage. With Mr. Troy Floyd as an
nouncer, the promenade began to
the tune of "Old Shanty Town,"
followed by the club dance to the
strains of the beautiful waltz, "The
Street Where Old Friends Meet."

dering splendid muaic. A gorgeous
scheme of the club colors was car-
ried out by the members in their
attire (red and white). Red alip-
pers and white dreases which con-
sisted of various types of material,
such as cut velvet, satins, crepes,
and taffetas. We pause here to ex-
press our heartfelt thanks to the
Rosebud Social Club and Young
Men's Progressive Club for their
beautiful baskets of red and white
carnations and the Smart Set for
their telegram.
