The eleventh annual "Cuide
Right" week, sponsored by tho
Kappa Alpha Pal fraternity, a na-
tional college organization tompoa-
ed of more than 5,000 men and in
over 80 chapters, will begin
throughout the nntion oti Sunday,
April 22, and continue tiuough t!io
29th.
During the week Ihouoiiudt of
"self analysis" blanks will be dis-
tributed to high school senior boys;
talks on vocational guidance will
be made by men who have achieved
success in their line of work; per-
sonal interviews wlil Lj mratiL'cd
for those boys who profess an in-
terest in any of the many occupa-
tions listed in the Hanks and an
effort will be made ti guide the
young men into useful iliaimels of
service.
Emphasis is placed upon this
theme; "Determine your field and
then prepare to work therein." Last
year the men of tho fraternity con-
tacted 3,000 boys between the ages
of 16 and 20 years. Personal inter-
views were scheduled with more
than 2,000 of them and follow-up
work has kept record of the ma-
jority of these so that many of last
year's high school graduates arc
now preparing themselves for a
line which they have relected
through the advice of ok!*.' men
of experience. The "Guide Right"
motemeiiL i> one of vocational guid-
ance based on the principle of "big
brother interest."
This program emphasis again the
contribution which may je made
!>y roclally conscious, education and
responsible citizens. It is not to be
confuted, ol course, with the more
technical help $iven by the spe-
c'a'iizcd vocational director but the
intelligent co-operation of business
and professional men is an im-
mensely valuable factor in a com-
munity guidance program.
Tho Guide Right Commission
which has direct charge of the na-
tional work is composed of Leon W.
Steward, Chicago, 111., R. J. Reyn-
olds, Topeka, Kans., and J W.
Holland, San Antonio, Texas. Dr.
J. Jerome Peters, Tuskegee Vet'

Barbara Stanwyck will be the
stellar attraction at the Empire
theater, opening today in her lat-
est Warner Brothers picture, "Gam-
bling Lady," a film based on the i
thrilling dramatic story by Doris
Malloy,
Miss Stanwyck has the gay and
sporting role of a square shooting
gambler who plays the game of life
with a courage few persons possess,
even to tossing away love to have
her husband from a crime of which
she knows he is innocent.
The picture is set in the gay
gambling halls where the idle rich
arc taken over the jumps for their
money by a syndicate of gamblers
that holds the city in its giip. The
story is climaxed by a cold-blooded
murder carried out by the syndi-
cate for which an Innocent man is
arrested.
There is a talented east in
which Joel McCrca and Pat O'Brien
share honors as masculine leads
and rivals for tho love of the gam-
bling lady. Claire Dodd plays the
home-wrecking role, a society girl
who stops at nothing to steal an-
other woman's husband.
Others in the cast include such
talented players as C. Aubrey
Smith, Phillip Reed, Philip Faver-
sham, Robert Barrat, Robert El-
liott, Ferdinand Gottschalk, Arthur
Vinton,' Willard Robertson and Ar-
thur Treacher.
Archie Mayo directed the pro-
duction from the screen play by
Ralph Block and Miss Malloy in
which they have taken pains to
reveal the crooked devices in the
many fields of gambling by which
