Harris County War Chest, which

to 30. The total goal is $1,785,694,
some $114,000 less than last year's
figure.

which all Americans alert to the
needs of the hour may give their
share toward meeting human needs
at home and abroad," campaign of-

and Mrs. R. H. Dausman, became
the bride of James Charles Johns-
ton, United States Navy, of Bess-
mer, Alabama Friday evening in a
ceremony in the home of her par-

vows before the mantle banked
with white carnations and gladioli
and lighted with white tapers.
The bride wore a street dress of
white crepe, and her accessories
were black. She carried a hand
bouquet of white gladioli. Her at-
tendant, Miss Viola Rogers of 3702
Jardin, wore blue crepe and used
brown accessories. Her corsage was
of pink gladioli.
John Johnston of Bessmer, brotn-
er of the bridegroom, was best man.
In the absence of her father, who
is overseas, the bride was given
in marriage by her uncle, C. L.
Bower of 3310 Sunset Boulevard.
An informal reception for the
family was held after the cere-
