THE COLORED PEOPLE
Are noted for- having big
imes Ch tisttnas. In .Albany
they had a ha(^ ;time, iu fact,
wo of them. Ai the residence
of Mts. Jobn'fippw a Christmas
tree was handsomely decorated
and , liberally weighted down
with presents for both old and
young. After the tree was re
ieved of its burden, the room
was cleared aud danoing com
menced. Mrs. Suow provided an
excellent supper for her guests
and they did it ample justice
At Mrs. D'fck Johnson's, .on the
west Side, was another tree and
to say it was a gt aud afiair is
no more than trutb. After the
presents were distributed the
company adjourned aoross the
street to the residence of Mrs.
John Thomas, where a supper
fit for the Gods was spread, but
it soon vanished after ihe color
ed lads ahd lasses tackled it
Theu the table and fragments of
jgckxf things were removed aud
to the music of Bussel's fiddle
the dance was indulged in until
a lale hour.
About nine o'clock Messrs
Bruckner, Manning, Creswell
and McRimmou turned, loose
theii pyroiechnical displays to
the great amusement of the ever
present small boy aud our citi
zeus generally, after which we
retired to our bachelor quarters,
and sd ended our Christmas.
