and he might have been taken

On his way from the depot down
towu he fell in with two young
gentlemen whom we will call
John and John'Alex. The tit st
question he addressed to them
was. "Do you know where eith-

promptly replied that he did
not. After-some further conver-

the street, aud on reaching
Conrad's corner, John veutured
to show him where the Presby-
tetian minister lived, Rev. S.
Ezel, and having obtained this
information they separated.
Learning that a gentleman who
formerly formed the musical
part of Major Penn's perform-

choir at the Presbyterian church
that night, w$ wended our way
thither, a thing we are loth to
confess we do not do often
enough for the soul's sake. - Af-

before the congregation was
dismissed with the benediction,
the Rev. Mr, Bzel announced
that all those who wished to re

some good music might do so.

our town, and announced that
he was traveling for tbe Galves-

he dehired to tell about a little

the depot whom he asked if
they knew where any of the
ministers of the town lived, aud
was pained when they told him
they did not, but that they
hoped when he next visited our
town they would be able to tell
him. After some further talk
of no Importance the audience
was dismissed, and the itiner-

home, but was met at the door
by John Alex, who had been
an interested listener to his lk-
