-(By J. R. Baden, Yoakum, Tex.
And I beheld another beast
(capitalism) coming up out of
the earth (human society); and
he had two horns (gold and sil-
ver) like a lamb {apparently both
iwtefut and innocent), and he
spake (in potency) like a drag-
on (with fierce power). And he
EXERCISETH ALL THE P(tW-
BB of the fiMt beast (oivil, gtfv-
* eminent of Christendom) before
htm and eauseth them that dwell
in tKe earth to worship (adore—
pay homage to) the first beast
(in the form of "patriotism").
And he (capitalism — the money
power) doeth great wonders, so
that he (capitalism) maketh fire
(war) come down from heaven
(civil power), in the sight of
men, AND DBCEIVETH THEM
that dwell on the earth by means
of those miracles (supernatural
stunts) which he (capitalism) had
power to do in the sight (collu-
sion with) the beast (political
power); saying to them that
dwell on the «&rth (the groat com-
mon people), THAT THEY
SHOULD MAKE AN IMAGE
(flag — "colors") TO THE
BEAST (civil power) And lie

ONLY genuine LIBERTY that
the world has ever known. JUS-
TICE and EQUITY wiU RULE

in all history!
Without the aid of bible pro-
phecies to guide us, there are
plenty signs now in evidence to
justify these conclusions in the
mind of anyone capabW of Mas-
oning from CAUSE to EFFECT;
The movement of the natural al-
lies of greed, exploitation and
privilege toward a dlosor union
for mutual protection is cedent
GIVE LIFE (force) unto the
IMAGE (flag?) of the beast (po-
litick power), so that the IM-
AGE of the beast should both
speak (in "patriotic agitation)
and oau)hc that AS MANY AS
WOULD NOT WORSHIP THE
IMAGE of the beast should be
" TILLED (persecuted, ostracized
and even convicted for treason)—
And that no man might buy or
sell (engage in commercial pur-
suits) without the mark ^ap-
proval, or the name (license) of
the beast (capitalist-controlled
civil power) —Rev. 18:11-17,
There is no other logical, or
even RATIONAL, interpretation
that may be applied to the above
passages from the book of Revel-
nation. In view of what-we see
spiring daily in the world at
the present time, no sincere bible
student can possibly doubt that
these prophecies are RIGHT
NOW in process of fulfillment.
Take the case of the Rev. Bouck
White, of New York City, who is
now* serving a term in dtate pris-
on for the offense of refusing to
worshin the IMAGE OF THE
BEAST — the FLAGS represent-
ing the power of capitalism! This
monstrous "crime" was commit-
ted recently in Rev. White s
church in New York by the dis-
play of the flag of INTERNA
TIONALISM, or the BROTHER-
HOOD OF MAN - that is to
say THE FLAG OF GOD ^
KINGDOM, soon to be SET UP
IN THE WORLD — that is,
JUST AS SOON AS CAPITAL-
ISM SHALL HAVE ANNlHIk
ATED ITSELF in the fire
now raging, by its blind, insane
■nmrnm P.fl
thimbleful of brains. There bene-
ficiaries of the present unholy
system of predatory greed called
"capitalism", are bent on des-
troying the world's present ordor
and fciviljzation rather than yield
to the demands of justice, right-
eousness and GOD, and forego
their present luxurious softs nap
of living without labor by that
form of legalized robbery n^med
"interest", " rent ft' " profit'',
"dividents" etc. The whole world
has been DECEIVED by 4he

Rev. 18:23). It has so long been
CUSTOMARY to steal, or ap-
propriate, or exploit the labor of
others by the means defined by
these polite and legal terms of
interest, rent etc, and will not
only the tolerance • but the open
sanction of the CHURCH, that
the vast majority of the people
have come to regard such ROB-
BERY, RIGHT, because it is
"LEGITIMATE". Yet ALL
know, who really know anything,
that the people who PASSED
THE LAWS making these com-
mercial forms of* theft "legitim-
ate' were 1 the robbers them-
selves and their HIRED ACCOM-
PLICES in the state and nati<Jn-
al law-making bodies.
That the ecclesiastical power of
the church shall be allied with the
financial power of capitalism
and the political power of kings
and rulers in a final supreme ef-
fort to stem the constantly swel-
ling tide of socialism in its de-
mands for JUSTICE, EQUITY
and HUMAN RIGHTS, is most
clearly foretold in Rev. 20:19-20,
which reads in part, as follows:
"And t saw the beast (money
power), and the kings .(rulers)
of the earth, and their armies,
GATHERED TOGETHER TO
MAKE WAR and the beast
WAS TAKEN (caught in repu-
diated war bonds and revolution),
and with him THE FALSE PRO-
PHET (ecclesiastical power)
these BOTH were cast alive (in
a flourishing or prosperous con-
dition) into A LAKE OF FIRE
BURNING WITH BRIMSTONE
(war, anarchy, chaos)".
As the days go by, receiving its
inspiration and financial back-
ing from Wall street, we may ex-
pect to sec the insanity of this
"preparedness' propaganda be-
coming constantly more frenzied
in its methods, until its madness
shall demand the instant suppres-
sion of all publicity agencies out
of harmony with it, and the sum-

Juno 6, 1916.
Tcachere, guardians of the
young, you posse* a tremendous
power in society. Wield that pow-
er for your own good and the
common good.
What You Could Do.
If conditions were right, if vou
could apply the latest in pedago-
gy, civics, sociology, and history-
teaching; if you taught small
classes of alert, well-fed, well-
clothed children, in modern school
building*; if you yourselves were
adequately paid and your posi-
tion elevated to its proper place
and sustained by school boards
and aldermen and boards of esti-
mate, society would advance with
rapid strides.
Why Can You Not?
Today you cannot fulfill your
high function in society properly,
because those bodies which deter-
mine teachers' salaries and ad-
ministrate school affairs depend
upon politicians for appropria-
tions; because politicians, cater-
ng to the desire of tax-payers for
low taxes, practise economy even
at the expense of education; and,
chiefly, because lacking the vote
you ere powerless to influence the
politicians to consider your inter-
ests and the interests of the pu-
pils.
How To Use The Vote.
The same class of society that
dominates boards of estimate and
school boards fears to have the
truth taught in the schools. Re-

The Truth About The Present.
The newspapers, which chron-
icle current events, are the tools
of thoBC men who today corres-
pond to the despots of the past.
At the bidding of these moneyed
masters, the truth is willfully sup-4
pressed and distorted. The Mexi-
cans, for instance, are represent-
ed as a backward race of bandits,
whereas they are a gentle race
loving liberty and justice.
The press creates predjudices
against races and nations, and
lashes the people into a militaris-
tic frenzy, playing into the hands
of the politicians, who feel free to
interfere with the true province of
educators and to force military
Training mto tne schools.
Military Training.
Shall we countenance this mon-
strous wrong! Military training
of the young has been tried in
many countries—fully tested and
discarded as a confessed failure.
It has proved itself vicious physi-
cally, morally and mentally. Its
dangers have been made apparent
in" the high schools of the national
oapital, where it has been prae
tised for many years. New York
and New Jersey have just passed
laws making military training,for
the young compulsory. Even Con-
gress is discusaing a national com
pulsory law for military training
camps for all boys of high school
age. At the 1915 convention of
the National Education Associa-
tion, resolutions were adopted
opposing military training in the
schools.
The greatest educators oppose
military training of the young.
Teachers, do permit military com-

Teacher And Pupil.
These many ills—low-salaried
teachers; inadequate schools, ill-
fed, ill-housed pupils, militarism,
military traming—all flow from
one source, from a system which
allows a few tp own the "earth
and fullness thereof," while the
many welter ^ in poverty, disease,
ignorance, crime.

Three laws have been signed by
Louisiana's governor that will
directly affect the women of the
state. One statute will enable
married women to dispose of their

will permit husband and wife to

third bill proposes the amendment

Perhaps, after all, the British
