Mc Arthur High School where she is
the President of the Business
Professionals of Americas, a member
of the National Honor Society, a
track star and a featured drama star
in the first Black production at
McArthur,"A Raisin In The Sun".
Princess Cheryl was escorted by
Cadet Eric Brown and was sponsored
by Soro Eula Pines.
Duchess Marsha Hall is the daughter
of Mrs. Mary Hall and is a senior at
John Marshall High School where
she is active in the English Honor
Society, the Latin Club, the Drama
Department and the Choir. Duchess
Marsha was escorted by Cadet Andre
Riley and was sponsored by Soror
Wilma Gibson.
Her Grace, Nicole Fuller is a second
year nursing student at St. Philip's
College and is the daughter of Mrs.
Peggy Fuller. Her Grace Nicole was
escorted by Cadet Keith Franklin
and sponsored by Soror Sharon Arch.
Junior Duchess Brandy Gail
Collins and twin sister and runner-
up Jamie Denise Collins are the
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. James
(Gail) Collins. They both are seventh
grade honor students at M.L. King
Middle School where they are active
members of the Student Council and
sing in the school choir. Duchess
Brandy Gail was escorted by Cadet
Derrick Williams. Jaime Denise was
escorted by Cadet Kevin Swintek.
The Collins twins were sponsored
by their grandmother, Soror Doloris
Williams.
Escorts for the Court were all
members of the Sam Houston High
School ROTC. Royal attendants to
the Courts included Connye
Ferguson, Sanae Hines, Ashley
Gibson, Maygen Hall, Earind
Jackson, Kristina Potter, Christopher
Mitchell, Jack Morgan, Taliferro J.
Neal, Charles Scroggins, Jr.,
Nehemiah Smith and Reginald
Wade.
The winners of the 1991 Delta
Scholarship Awards were also
recognized during the evening.
Scholarships will be made available
for the fall semester of 1991, at their
respective colleges, to the following
high school seniors: Jolanda T.
Williams, Brackenridge High;
Sherial E. Cubit, Judson High School;
Erika Clark, Fox Tech High, and,
Roslyn D. Gray of Highlands High.
S hirley Bell is chair of the scholarship
committee.
Following the recessional and a
brief reception in the foyer, the guest
were treated to a sensational talent
show featuring a diverse group of
multi-talented local performers.
After a brief welcome by Soror
Sherry Logan, the "Future Stars
Talent Gala" was kicked off with a
rousing vocal rendition of "Safe in
His Arms" performed by "All God's
Children" featuring Janette Brown
of Montgomery Elementary' Randell
Darden, Christen Darden, and Angela
Perry, all of S.H. Gates Elementary
School.
The group was accompanied by
Aristide Brown, Jr of East Central
High School and performed under
the direction of Mrs. Jeanette Brown.
A vocal selection of "Home" was
performed by Cheyda Ellison of
Anson Jones Middle School who

The 1991 Delta Queen of Hearts,
Kristina Lynne Johnson, was
officially crowned in the beautifully
appointed setting of Beethoven Hall.
Withabackdropof luscious greenery
and magnificent glittering stars, the
theme for the "Future Stars Talent
Gala" portion of the program,
homage was paid to Queen Kristina
and her royal court.
The Queen of Hearts Coronation
and an accompanying production are
presented annually by the San
Antonio Alumnae Chapter of Delta

was accompanied by Deborah
Butler; a piano selection by Vonda
Collier of St. Mary's University;
followed by the vocal selection,
"Still",performed by Kenny Collins
of Judson High School, who
charmed the audience by tossing red
roses.
Jonathan Hope of Southwest High
School continued the program by
performing a saxophone rendition
of "Slam". The dramatic skit,"The
Women of Brewster Place" was
performed by Misty Easier of Boston
University which was followed by
Kimberly Earls', of Judson High
School, rendition of "The Wind
Beneath My Wings."
The musical selection, "Don't Cry
For Me" was vocalized by Kathy
Ray of Providence High School; the
dramatic skit, "Slave Story" was
acted outby Robin Wilson of Judson
High School followed by the S.H.
Gates Elementary School's La
Queshia Page's rendition of "The
Greatest Love Of AH".
Shandi Easier of Churchill High
School sang "One Moment in Time"
which was followed by the T.J.
Jackson Dancers tap dance to the
music of "Anchors Away". The
dancers consisted of Joanna Hardy,
Leticia Menton, Stephanie
McCracken, Tamika McCraken,
ItillaScottandBridgett Walker. The
dance team was under the direction
of Thelma Jackson.
The Brotherhood, featuring
Thaddeus Crum of Judson High
and Edmond Kelly, Renaldo
Ramirez and Ernest William all of
Roosevelt High, performed the rap
song,"Information Song."
While awaiting the word from
the judges, the noncompetitive Sam
Houston Dance Team performed
"Heed the Word of the Brother".
The dance team featured April
Auzenne, Brenda Lanford, Nicole
Smith and captain, Goldie Wilson.
The team was under the direction
of Denise Ingram.
Walking away with 1st prize in
the talent competition was Robin
Wilson for her dramatic skit: tied
for second were Kenny Collins and
the Brotherhood for their respective
acts, while fourth prize was taken
by the TJ. Jackson Dancers.
Judging the talent acts were:
Sharon Garrett, Lou Miller. Cheryl
Patrick, and Michelle Green.
A special party is planned for April
20 at 1:00 P.M. at the Myra Davis
Hemmings resource Center to thank
the Queen of Hearts contestants
and all of the participants in the
talent show, along with their
supportive parents, for a great sand
memorable evening of
entertainment. All of the talent
contestants will be presented with
"Certificates of Participation" along
with their cash awards. Chairing
the 'Talent Gala" for the evening's
entertainment was Soror Sherry
Logan with Sorors Ruth Burns and
Vivian Samples serving as co-
chairs.
Soro Marva Barnes Crisp serves
as the General Chair for the financial
projects committee. Serving as co-
chairs are Sorors Vivian Samples,
Sherry Logan and Eloise Sewell.
The Deltas wish to thank the

and was sponsored by Kuth Jones
McClendon.
