Law and Grace
By Sadie Barnes
I would like to make a series of
studies on law and grace. I am not
making these studies lo desput any-
one nor am I doing this to imply that
I am some great Bible scholar.
I am just curious to know why dif-
ferent denominations with the same
Bible can arrive at different
interpetations concerning the
scriputre.
For instance the group of believers
that teach that we are still under law
when Rom 6:14 clearly says ye are
not under law but under grace.
I have learned that Bible is speak-
ing to believers when it says ye arenot
under law. There are also other
scriptures further down in this study
that helps to strengthen this truth,
that we are living under the cov-
enant grace not law.
I want to start by writing what the
Bible says concerning the law. Here
are some of them.
Oh foolish Galalians who has
bewithled you (coasted a spell on
you) that you should not obey the
truth. Before whose eyes Jesus Christ
has been evidently set forth crucified
among you. Gal. 3:1
This only would I learn of you, re-
ceived ye the Spirit by the works of
the law or by the learning of faith?
Gal. 3:2
But that no man is justified by law
in the sijjht of God, it is evident for.
thejust shall live by faith Gal 3:11
The justified ones are the believers.
Gal 3:12. Christ hath redeemed us
from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us inGal. 3:19. It
says wherefore then serveth the law?
it was added becausc of transgres-
sions. Till the seed should come to
whom the promises was made; Gal.
3:19
Wherefore the law was our
" schoolmaster to bring us to Crhist,
that we might be justifies by faith.
Gal. 3:24
But after faith (Jesus) is come, we
are no longer under a schoolmaster
Gal. 3:25. Then in Gal. 4:4, says but
when the fullness of time was come,
God sent forth his son, made a
woman, made under the law, Ga.
4:4, To redeem Isreal that was under
the law, that we may receive the
adoption of sons, Gal4:5.
