IN PLACE OF ROTE WORK
The high fourth and low fifth
pupils demonstrated a beautiful
Thanksgiving play. Every one In
the audience could vividly picture
the pilgrims of 1700.
There was the conversation 011
the boat while coming to America,
and their landing. There was the
prepnrlng of the Thanksgiving
dinner, which was done iu a real
log cabin scenery background.
Tlie paper scenery looked ns if
real logs were piled up, one 011
the other; seen on the walls were
guns and other hangings found In
a pilgrim's home. Against the
wall could be seen the fire place
and the cupboard with all its
dishes. This luterior scene was
also used as a meeting place where
dad discussed matters with mother
ns she rocked the baby.
Still another piece of scenery
showed the wilderness ot trees
where the pilgrims secured their
food and shelter. \
