"Youth for Christ"
Rally, Saturday
It was announced, this week, that
the next "youth for Christ'* rally
sot for Saturday evening, April 12,
at 7 :30 o'clock, at St. John baptist
ehuroh, would be his' lighted by a
drama. "The Prodigal Girl,'* with a
cast of 10. The production will he
the first of its kind, since the ral-
lies started.
This rally Is being held at St.
John's iu order to broaden the scope
of, and to make city-wide, the
"youth for Christ" project. St.
John's is at 11D Olmos, Kev. E. J.
Wilson, pustor. The host church will
provide refreshments.

Dedicatorial services were lield Sunday. March SI, for Grant Memorial AME church's stately and attrac-
tive rebuilt $10,000 brick church at 2001 West Poplar street, of which the Rev. O. W. Hodges is pastor. Hon-
oring the servbis with his presence was Bishop George B. Young, and Presiding Elder Rev. John A. Howard.
Bishop Young delivered the morning service. The Revs. P. F. Jackson and T. L. Sanders oficiated at the
dedicatorial services. Tile closing sermon was delivered by the Kev. H. F. Cooper, with the Easter Sunday
activities closing the financial drive. The amount raised was $1121.
Dinner was served on the grounds, and pictures made, and punch and cookies were served to all after
service. Visitors were taken on a tour of the grounds, and were shown the a l.litions to the church, choir room,
pastor's study, kitchenette, diniug room. Receiving much favorable common! was the beautiful painting of
"The I.ast Supper," directly over the dining room.
The church membership highly praised Rev. and Mrs. Hodges for thi ir steadfastness and work. Rev.
Hodges, It was pointed out. has done a most admirable job at Grant, and, mder his dvnamic leadership, a
long-standing mortgage has boon paid off, he has given Grant n brick edifice, the church is progressing both
spiritually and financially, nnd he is held as a courageous and pious leader, and all are hoping that reward
for his work will be promotion to a higher and greater position.

A splendid Easter program was ren-
dered with 82 children appearing
on program. The regular communion
service was held at four o'clock
with the pastor officiating. Mrs. Hill

the message.
Rev. Anderson is now conducting
a prc-Pentacost revival at West
End. He has recently closed two
successful revivals at Corpus and
Victoria. The public is invited.
