COLLEGE STATION - Some
general guidelines can help a
family decide where to ke p
personal and family records and
papers, says Dr. Carolyn Mc-
Klnney, family resource man-
agement specialist with the
Texas Agricultural Extension
Service, The Texas A and M
University system.
Consider gettng a safe de-
posit box--annual rental Is fair-
ly Inexpensive, she suggests.
However, don't use It as a
' catchall" for souvenirs and
unimportant papers.
As a general guide, keep only
those records that cannot be re-
placed or would be extreme-
ly costly or troublesome to re-
place In the safe deposit box.
This might Include Items such
as:
—birth, death and marriage
certificates,
—deeds and titles to real es-
tate and personal property,
—citizenship, adoption and vet-
CI Mil ft J.
—divorce decrees,
--carbon copy of a will,
—copy of household Inventory,
—Important contracts, and
--bond and stock c> rtiflcate*.
Other Important papers such
as tax receipts, canceled checks
loan payment books, Insurance
policies, and family health re-
cords are usually easily re-
placed, the apeclallst explains.
So, keep these In a well or-
ganized household file. Keep a
current list at where family
papers are located so that
they can be easily found, she
adds.
Good Shepherd club and live
music in the early evening will
provide entertainment for the
whole family.
