Even as a part-tipio, performer last

included the awesome total of 24

world scried in which the Yankees
turned th« tables on the Braves, re-
turned to nction near. luidseason. He
had been out for about a year after
injuring his knee after the 1057 all-
star game.,
Long regnrded as one of the best
ballhawks !iu the majors, Bruton has
always been a timely hitter. He got
into 100 qojitests in 105S and ended
the season with a .280 batting mark.
His presence in the outfield gives the
Braves one of the few all-Negro out-
fields in the majors.

The young Puerto Rican left hander
has plenty of stuff hut still hasn't lived
up to the promise he showed a few sea-

Atlantic league in his organized base-

The handyman of the Braves is an-
other Puerto Rican, Felix Mantilla,
lie can play second, short or third,
aiul in tlx; outfield. He is fast on the
bases and packs surprising power for a
player of his size.
Expected to see service as a reliefer,
unless he. is traded, is righthander
Humherto Robinson. Robinson has
compiled a fine minor league record
but has not been able to muster into
a starting role on the talent-rich
mound staff of the Braves.
One of the team's most promising
newcomers is Lee Maye, a long-ball
hitter. Maye, an outfielder, spent last
season with Jacksonville of the South

such stars as Aaron and Covington.
