THE CITY COUNCIL lias ordered advertise
mtn! for bids for tome IS,000 feet of tewer
cxttniinn in Albany. The bid* will be in by
the Utter part of October, and the sewer line*
ar® to he put down during the winter.
This extension will take rare of most of the
northeast and ea t part o( Albany.
This extension bas been planned by the city
council since it bought the system in 1941, and
the council believes this is one of the most
needed projects they have attempted. It is
hoped that the entire city can be given the
sewer service in the not too distant future.

Albany is growing. New hotv.e continue to jj> up
New bil sill esse.- continue to come to Albany.
With adequate housing, water and anitar\ <1
posal systems, there is no reason why \lbany cant
continue to grow and prosper.
ALONG WITH OUR GROWTH, Albany will
put down some pavements, curbs and sidewalk*
The city official* will cooperate with any paving
proposals in the city, and alreAdy the residents
on Breckenridge Road have a*ked the city to
help them pave their street
Several miles of street paving and sidewalk*
will add much to our little city.
WKST TKXANS have been accustomed to drouth.-
throufth the years, and take one ever now and then
for granted. Lack of rain the paM couple of month-
reminds u x of the drouths of the middle thirties
However, a good rain now would do a world of good,
giving the farmers and rancher a chance to get
their grain up. It's too late to bring on in the
pastures, however.
